Akasaka used to be Osaka in New Windsor/Vails Gate on 32. Our family and friends have been enjoying their smiling service and sushi for at least 15 years. The water front is a lot more relaxing as you just sit back and watch the boats and people go by. Definitely worth the trip.

Shares a patio on the river with 4 other restaurants, sometimes the larger bar has outdoor music which is a plus. Not much ambiance inside, but no less than any other sushi restaurant which always seem to be quiet by design! Good was great, good to have a healthy meal on the road. Salmon roll and shrimp were good. Could use a better wine menu but it is a small place.

Nice ambiance, good service and best of all the prices are good! The food tastes great, and the service is excellent! Get an outside seat if possible; you can eat with an amazing view of the Hudson River! The lobster roll was spectacular as was the mango! I cannot recommend this place highly enough! A great gastronomic find on the Hudson!

This is a comparatively small restaurant along this strip on the Hudson River. They have a small outdoor space which is covered, but open on the sides. The sushi is very good, and the service courteous. They open the doors to allow airflow at times because it does get a little smokey occasionally because the "kitchen", or preparation area is within view of the seating area inside. The prices are reasonable in a no-rush atmosphere.

My friend and I were going to a different restaurant originally on the waterfront, but it was closed for a private party so we decided to give Akasaka a try. The place is small and narrow, but the service was very friendly and welcoming. Things seemed to take a little longer than usual, but everything we had was freshly prepared and delicious. The only thing I would say in the con dept. is that when they cleaned the stove, the chemical they used was pungent and made my eyes burn, the fan was on but seemed to have little effect.
