Description: Located on the top of a hill overlooking Mount Kisco, La Camelia Restaurant offers a European country farmhouse where guests enjoy authentic Spanish and Portuguese dishes, a large menu of tapas, and an abundant selection of wines & ports. Patrons can either choose to come and enjoy the casual "tapas tap room" or choose a quiet, fine dining experience, where traditional Iberian dishes are served. The ingredients are always fresh, and grown on the premises when the season permits.

Tucked up on a hill behind the Burger King on North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco is a dining experience that is absolutely not be missed. My wife and I went to La Camelia for an early Valentine's Day dinner, and....wow.....just wow. We arrived at about 5:30 PM, and were greeted at the door by Serafina, one of the owners, an absolutely charming lady who made us feel welcome from the first moments. We were shown to a table near the fireplace, where Serafina happily answered our questions about the menu. She had given her staff the evening off, as it was Super Bowl Sunday, so she was doing the serving as well as the hosting. It being Super Bowl Sunday, there were not a lot of people out for dinner, so Serafina was able to spend a good amount of time with the customers who were there, and she did just that, engaging in pleasant conversation. La Camelia is basically a tapas place, but they do have a few meat and fish entrees on the menu. My wife ordered a small plate (I forget which one), and then an octopus entree, and later remarked that if she had know how large the entree would be, she probably would have skipped the tapas. I had a caesar salad followed by quite possibly the best steak I have ever had. It was a huge Black Angus sirloin, served on a sizzling cooking stone. The steak comes only partially cooked, and you get to slice it up and finish cooking it, just how you like it, on the stone. The steak was top quality beef, nice and lean, but very tender nonetheless. It came with roasted potatoes and a vegetable medley. Everything was mouth watering. My wife said the same for her dish. For dessert we shared an incredible pistachio cake. We left stuffed and very satisfied, but it wasn't just the food. Serafina, and her husband Victor, who came out from the kitchen to chat later, are great hosts, and really made the experience complete. When you make a reservation at La Camelia (they are on Open Table), I suggest that in the special request section you ask to have Serafina serve you. And bring a couple of good jokes with you.....she loves to laugh.

I was disappointed with my order of Jamon Serrano tapa because it was not Jamon Serrano but Prosciutto instead. I asked the owner if it was serrano or prosciutto and he assured me that it was Spanish, then told me that they were basically the same. I mentioned that the color is different and also the moisture content. I was too polite to continue.
I should've sent it back and left.
Outside of that, the place is beautiful and the bartender is the star. He is a great entertainer. Drinks could've been stronger. It's well worth the visit, just make sure you get the Spanish 'prosciutto.'

Booked La Camelia for a family gathering to celebrate my son's graduation and was pleasantly surprised.. The food was incredible tasty, the portions were very generous and the hit apple tart was fantastic!

The staff was attentive and provided good service..

Highly recommend La Camelia will definitely come again!
