Recently, after church, my wife and I met another couple from church for breakfast. We went to Saati Deli in Newton Plaza in Latham , NY. All of us had been here before. As with prior visits, we were given immediate attention from the waitresses. That, in itself, is a sign of welcome to an establishment. Because of our familiarity, we spent limited time with the menus. My wife ordered a custom omelet, I had eggs, english muffin and home fries (special delight), and our friends had french toast and pancakes. We all were pleased as evidenced by the clean plates. Coffee refills were plentiful and came without having to ask. Good value for a wonderful Sunday experience

We got take-out for lunch when in the area on business. Very good sandwiches and sides. An excellent variety of choices. We got there before noon so service was fine, but I could see it may slow down during the lunch hour rush. The staff was friendly and helpful. We'll go there next time we're in town

This deli is located in the Newton Plaza, which is convenient for parking. When you walk in, there's a long deli counter on the left side where you can purchase items to take home. There also are some tables, as well as tables in a back area. The atmosphere is casual. I had the matzo ball soup which was flavorful but a bit overseasoned. I also split a Corned Beef Reuben sandwich, which came with pickles & a choice of a side salad (potato, macaroni, or coleslaw), with a family member. One person had a Falafel Salad while another ordered breakfast. We all enjoyed our food! They also offer dinner entrees & do catering. FYI, Ben & Bill's Deli at Price Chopper, while having no atmosphere & a much less flavorful matzo ball soup, serves a thicker grilled Reuben (which they advertise as "at least eight ounces per sandwich").

Being transplanted from the city, we tend to be super critical when it comes to Delis.
They are in a great location & we decided to give them a try. Shared a bowl of Matzo Ball soup which was flavorful, but please...you could afford 2 balls instead of one as they are the size of a ping pong ball. I had chopped liver on a hard roll. Tasted fine but nothing out of the ordinary. My husband had the fried eggplant w/ rsted red peppers on Ciabatta bread. Again good but nuthin to write home about. I will say that their potato salad & coleslaw are really good. The staff is very friendly & service prompt. The menu in general is fine & good for the area, but I think we'll stick with our favorite in Schenectady.

Ordered a chefs salad at 12:30 pm. When I inquired at 12:55 pm where my food was, they had no clue what I was talking about. The young lady at the register was very nice after I asked her for my money back because I had no more time to stay and eat. The man working the counter asked his employee if I had gotten my money back. He never once acknowledged me or apologized for their error. He seemed indifferent and had already moved on to neglecting the next customer.

I guess that's just the way they do business here. Walk the extra 100 feet down the plaza and get food from Crisp!
