We checked out this location because we found a Groupon for Historic High Tea for Two and decided that it may be fun to check out. We stopped here after visiting a museum and Yankee Distillery nearby and figured we could get a bite to eat to tide us over until dinner. Historic high tea for each person comes with either soup or salad, 3 types of tea sandwiches (you get 2 of each kind), 1/2 a pot of any tea you like on the menu, 2 types of scones and a variety of dessert (for two of us we had two cupcakes, 2 cookies and a pastry). We had the carrot ginger soup and seriously it was sooo delicious and it came in a big bowl not a tiny cup which we expected. Everything was yummy. The place was busy so obviously it has a following. They also have other menu items like a traditional breakfast/lunch stop would have so more than just tea. I did not find it pricey, it was quite reasonable and our Historic High Tea actually filled us up so much we couldn't finish it all and we were too full for dinner. The Groupon ticket was a good deal since all we had to cover was tax ($4) and the tip. We also got to see some planes take off since it backs up to a portion of the airport. Even though they were busy the staff lets you take your time - they don't rush you at all. I love the menagerie of cute antique tea cups and plates they use as well.

This tea house is located in a restored old home right next to the airport. They have luncheon items as well as tea packages. We tried the most expensive tea ($25). It included a pot of tea, delicious Red Pepper Bisque Soup, sandwiches, scones and desserts. The Buttermilk scone was wonderful. The spinach flavor tasteless and the Strawberry burned on the bottom. The roast beef and smoked salmon sandwiches were good, the others unremarkable.

The other baked good ranged from OK to day old. If I went back again, I'd save myself some money and order soup and a scone.

We had seen an ad for this business and as it is close to exit 6 off of I-87 decided to noon time tea it. It was indeed busy but was worth the short wait because the tea (hot & iced) was very good. The rest of the high tea meal consisted of sandwiches, scones and sweets that were all unique and very tasty. Although the high tea was a little expensive, one does not have to choose such an elaborate meal since the menu offers items not costing as much. My wife and I enjoyed this business and would go back again.

Our nieces from Toronto like to go to tea houses, and The Tailored Tea lives up to its billing as having the only scones in America that are closest to an English scone. The restaurant in Latham is open six days a week (closed Tuesday) in a historically preserved building on Albany International Airport property. It is a re-imagined farmhouse, a remnant of what was once farmland, that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and high tea. We came just for tea and scones. Each vintage cup is served from a vintage teapot kept warm by a candle. Scones and cookies can be purchased and taken home too. The owner is the chef (and waiter on the quiet afternoon we were there.) This is a fun and popular place on weekends, and you don't want to be in a hurry.
