My wife and I have stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn probably a dozen times. We've always looked forward to the beautiful location and the cozy lobby with fireplaces. We arrived Friday before Easter and after a nice casual dinner at their lakeside restaurant, The Cottage, we took the kids to the beautiful indoor pool. While at the pool my wife decided to surprise the kids and called room service to have ice cream delivered to the room. Well you would have thought we were asking for something highly unusual and difficult. After tolerating a poor and rude attitude(no we have chocolate or vanilla you can't have both and no we don't have sprinkles or anything to make a sundae) from the girl my wife was passed on to the manager, Nicole. Not much got better with Nicole's demeanor. After far longer than necessary the ice cream was ordered. After my wife hung up and told me what happened I told her to cancel the order which she did. Nicole called our room later that night close to 9pm not really apologizing but seeing if there was anything she could send the kids now. No thanks they are in bed

Easter brunch was nice but definitely not worth $52/adult.

We too are disappointed and find it unfortunate that your review grossly miss-represents your wife’s conversations with both the hostess and with the restaurant supervisor who each went out of their way to try and accommodate her requests. Reading other reviews about us will validate this. You were not privy to these conversations, which were very strange to say the least.

When your wife attempted to order a “Build your own Cupcake” or a “Build your own Sundae Bar”, the hostess politely explained that neither item is something we have available in our Four-Diamond restaurant. We then suggested one of our popular homemade ice creams and offered to check with the kitchen on several of the toppings that your wife requested to make sure that we had them on hand. Unfortunately, this was not satisfactory to your wife and when the tone of the conversation became confrontational the hostess did feel it best to transfer her over to the supervisor.

I’m sorry that Nichole’s attempt to apologize for any disappointment and to try and find an acceptable solution was not appreciated. We are fair and reasonable people who like to deal with others that are the same. We bent over backwards for your wife and still could not satisfy her . Reading other reviews about us will validate this.

Obviously we are not the place for you in the future.

Sincerely,
Christopher Jarvis

The Mirror Lake reputation is well earned and deserved from the check-in process to the express check-out every detail is nicely explained and accompanied by welcome cookies and each and everything you could possibly need or think to ask for including assistance with luggage, as there are many stairs, however, multiple routes to travel the property. The staff were fantastic, the restaurants close and well appointed and all the little touches (e.g. proper tea served in the main living room daily from 4-6 pm and access to beverages 24-7 is a nice added benefit of staying as a guest). This was just the restful and quiet two-night, three-day getaway I needed continue my spring break from work! Thank you Mirror Lake in, taste Bistro, and The Cottage for a lovely stay...I look forward to the next time...

We came up for the last ski weekend in April and stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn for three nights. It was definitely a lap of luxury type of experience, our accommodations were outfitted with a king size bed, a couch, whirlpool tub and outstanding views.

We had dinner at the cottage, a cozy enchanted restaurant that overlooks mirror lake. The food was great, especially the chipotle Cesar salad and the flatbread pizzas.

The pool facility is beautifully landscaped with an Adirondack setting complete with log cabin sauna room and huge hot tub. I had a massage at the recently renovated spa, it was a truly relaxing experience.

The five star staff couldn't be more eager to please. So sad to leave this magical place but will definitely be coming back!

A great location with views over the mirror lake. Nice food in the bistro and Cottage restaurant adjacent to the lake. Many rooms have a lake view (see photo). Only room for improvement is re the pool when empty, awkward to do lengths due to lane rope dividing the pool , and, the limit on 2 wifi users per room - which was very frustrating

Came out with the wife for a getaway from NYC. Was the perfect relaxing place to stay. The main lobby is beautifully adorned with multiple seating areas. The staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. Coming in April has the advantage of not being as crowded/busy but the disadvantage of some of the activities not being open (canoeing/kayaking). Still tons of hiking and other activities in the area.

The view from the room of mirror lake and the adirondac mountains was spectacular. The jacuzzi and pool were clean and well maintained and a perfect relaxation spot.

Plan to return in the future!!
