Happy to revisit Le Canard for a romantic dinner ....easy to be transported to Paris when spending an evening here ...start with champagne then on to oysters and fois gras, then to scallops and mussels. Phenomenal broth on both dishes !!! Finished with cappuccino and a lemon tart. Truely an escape for our anniversary!!!! Merci Jean Jacques and Elizabeth !!!!

Thank Denny Q

This is not a five star restaurant....it's a 10 star restaurant. France in historic Kingston!
Delicious dinners and deserst are a must! What to order? Come back multiple times and try it all. It's that good. Incredible servers leave nothing to the imagination. Warm and friendly atmosphere.
John-John, Cathy and JJ, thanks so much for a truly memorable evening!

The historic district of Kingston is full of architectural gems lovingly restored or hanging in there. It is also the venue for this fine french restaurant that is teeming with atmosphere, a lively bar and a well stocked wine cellar. The menu is a bit dated, and that is not a bad thing. It reminds me of our earliest trips to France in the late 60s to the 80s. The old standards are prepared with finesse. Like any good bistro or bouchon, it has plenty of regulars/locals, but the welcome is also genuine for those passing through. If we lived nearby, we would return frequently too.

Fine salads, excellent Long Island Duck, Tart Tatin and Lemon Tart, the kind of dishes you would find in one of the less touristy arrondisements of Paris.A worthy culinary stop.

The prices can get a little steep, but that is the cost of keeping an ambitious restaurant going in this day and age. They have been around for 20+ years. Let's hope they have the energy for 20 more.

My wonderful partner took me there for fathers day and as always, I had the duck (which was superb). It is probably among the best of I every had. Service is not rushed and most pleasant.

The service was great, and the team seemed like a family. Rated this meal and restaurant a 4. I'd think this is the real #1 rated restaurant in Kingston, NY unless you like early bird specials or value meal. If you like creative, special food and experience, then you will love this place. Appetizer of cheese with peach and tomato and orange sauce, yum. Entree with jumbo shrimp and basmati rice and special sauce, yum.
