Our room was small but quite comfortable, nice clean bathroom with a walk-in shower and plenty of hot water. The staff couldn't be more helpful...they were terrific even if their English wasn't that great. The free breakfasts were fruit, juice and eggs any way you want them. The huevos rancheros were excellent, and their omelettes were tasty. One note of caution though, when ordering sausages you will get a hot dog. Go for the chorizo instead...its much better. There is no parking so you would have to park in the street. Just 15 minute walk from Plaza de Armas where most all the good restaurants are.

Room tip: Great rooftop terraces for quiet wine and cheese.

This a charming little hotel, well located and with lots of character. It has a very nice patio, overall it seemed clean and the staff was super friendly.

I wouldn’t qualify it as “hotel boutique” because you don’t get many amenities in the room (not even hair conditioner) but it could be good value for the price you pay.
Also, they serve a delicious cook-to-order breakfast in the patio.

Unfortunately, I have to rate very low for two big NO’s for me:
- There was mold in the celling due to humidity next to the bed. It had already damaged the painting and it was falling to the floor. As an asthmatic, this is not good at all for my health and that room should have been not available until repaired. They were also mold stains in the shower-curtain.
- The pillows were terrible! They had a thin layer of stuffing inside a pillowcase and that was it… We woke up with stiff necks.

***

Saludos cordiales

A pleasant hotel, within a few blocks of all the central locations, but peaceful. An unused roofdeck that appeared to have been a bar, was full of blooming bougainvilleas, butterflies and hummingbirds, which we enjoyed watching and photographing. (We were there in July which is the slow season.)

Room tip: We asked for a quiet room and it was quiet.

We stayed four nights at this small hotel and because it was mid-week in the off season, we (two couples) were the only ones there. Jesus and the staff looked after us like royalty. From the great coffee and breakfasts in the morning, to booking us tours, recommending restaurants and giving us tourist information, they were terrific hosts. Jesus escorted us to one restaurant himself and he went out another time and got us ice for our cooler.

There were lots of maps and brochures of things to do in Queretaro, both in the office and in our rooms which was nice. The rooms were on the small side and a bit dark which is pretty much what you get in any hotel in the Centro Historico in a colonial city in Mexico. However, they were comfortable and very quiet. The bathrooms were good; big showers with good pressure and lots of hot water.

We drove to Queretaro so we were happy that we could park right out front of the hotel in reserved parking although the hotel is so well located we only took the car to go out to the big rock at Bernal. Queretaro was a very impressive city and quite beautiful so walking was a joy. There are many lovely plazas and pedestrian streets. The hotel Villa de Villar was wonderfully situated for eating out, sightseeing, shopping and exploring this lovely city. I can't wait to go back.

The location couldn't have been better..........a few blocks away from the old
historic center. Jesus & Christian were so fabulous to me. I felt safe...cared for
............delicious yummy...beautiful breakfast daily. The roof top, and great place to read and soak in some lovely sun. My room was very comfortable...the shower pressure so great. Perhaps needed just another floor lamp near bed.....however I will go back there again and again.

Room tip: Perhaps a room in the courtyard area would be better or on the upper levels.
