We were recommended this hotel a couple of years ago, and its lived up to expectations.
This is no blingy 5 star hotel. Much more subtle, shabby chic with a touch of class. If it were a classic car it would be described as having 'Patina'. Something that takes years to achieve.
So to the staff. Pleasant, happy, attentative, but never intrusive, pretty bloody good then.
The food is just great. Plenty of choice all cooked fresh and delicious.
The gardens are kept immaculate as are the two pools. No complaints so far.
Yassen the masseur I highly recommend, the best I have come across in a hotel anywhere and really cheap.
Although we only went on one trip with the local guide/taxi it was a good day out to local market, crocodile attraction lunch etc.
Other guests tried various excursions and all had a great time.
So to sum up. Stay here and you won't be disappointed, I really can't fault it, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Gambia.More
