All in all it was a good vacation. The resort is really beautifully kept and has a lot of activities to offer for a wide range of ages and interests. The pool is small but clean and fun, and the meals, which are part of the all-inclusive (high) fee, are satisfactory.

The only issue we had was with the rooms. We were staying at the "updated" Oklahoma building, which we though would be newer and more modern. However, we were very disappointed to find it to be old, bland, hardly furnished (no sofa or any place to sit other than the bed and two chairs), and most of all - DARK. Luckily we had a lot to do outside the rooms so didn't need to be there very much, but considering the high rates and publicity these rooms got, this was a huge disappointment.

Room Tip: Avoid the Oklahoma building

Hi TravelingWithTom,

Thank you for your review and feedback. Each night, I place a welcome letter in all of our arriving guests' rooms. Besides giving a everyone a big "howdy," I ask folks to stop by the office and ask for me specifically if there is an issue or just simply want to say hello. I certainly wish we had the chance to meet as I would have loved to speak with you directly.

We recently completed a total renovation of the bathrooms in the Oklahoma building, and are now entering phase two of construction (including exterior upgrades).

Please feel free to contact me directly with any additional feedback, it would be great to chat with you.

Best Regards,
Steve, Owner

long overdue - been a whole week and words cant express the gratitude we have towards the accommodating staff! aside from being an all inclusive resort - the staff accommodated our kosher group in a way that was just aboveeee and beyond. we were so touched by the personal involvement of the whole staff we were left speechless! our stay was SO fun, the kids had a blast and the adults got to enjoy as well! thank you SO much!!!

Overall we had a great time. We enjoyed horseback riding, micro golf, the haunted house, apple picking and so much more. He kids club was a huge hit. Our five year old was so happy to be dropped off there before the adults went for a ride. We hope to go again ourselves.

Three things that could be improved:

The WiFi: We were in an Oklahoma building and the WiFi was weak and often non-existent. It took multiple attempts to connect and it would through you off frequently. A WiFi call, Skype, streaming Netflix or anything beyond loading one page slowly was beyond the capacity. The WiFi in the lobby worked much better.

Front desk and services: The towel rack on one of the bathrooms came off. We told by the front desk that someone would come by and fix it. After 12 hours we called the front desk and they were very apologetic and again said someone would come and fix it. It was never fixed. The people were friendly but did not deliver.

When house cleaning came by we asked them not to clean at that time because someone had to make a work related call from the room. After the call was over the person called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could come back after 4 and they said yes. No one came. On our way to dinner we asked again and the person at the front desk said the cleaners had gone home for the day. Thus, the room was never cleaned.

It is not that big deal that the towel rack was on the floor or that the room was not clean it is more the lack of follow through from the front desk that we think needs improving.

Booking: It would be helpful if one could book online. Without this option, it took me significant time and effort via phone and email to figure out the best room choice for my family. I have read that this is a deliberate choice for costumer connections but for the busy family it is an inconvenience.

Everyone in our party had a wonderful time and were impressed with the variety of activities available and the value of the experience.

We just returned from a family vacation at Rocking Horse Ranch! We arrived on Tuesday, October 10th and stayed until Friday, October 13th. Immediately upon entering the ranch we were greeted by the friendly staff! We found throughout the course of our stay that every single Rocking Horse employee that we encountered was kind, courteous, and helpful (when needed).

The room was spotless, and my two and four-year-old boys were pretty excited about their bunk beds! We felt as though the rooms were very spacious and with four of us sharing the space, we never felt cramped.

The pool and splash park provided hours of fun for all of us, and though the kids weren't up for the 250foot water slide my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The lifeguards were very attentive and the pool and splash park areas were very clean!

The breakfast and lunch buffets offer more choices than you could ever ask for, but if you have dietary concerns the staff will do their best to meet your needs! (Your server can get your eggs or pancakes to order at breakfast!) We had Chris as our server for two out of our three mornings and he is awesome! He is attentive, quick, and very knowledgeable about the ranch. Dinner was not a buffet, but there were many choices to suit your needs! Salad is on the table when you arrive, you can order a soup, a choice of two appetizers, a choice of multiple entrees, and potato and vegetable. After dinner you can dip one of the various fruits or goodies in the chocolate fountain, choose from among the various choices of cookies and cakes, or serve yourself some ice cream.

We enjoyed many of the Ranch's activities. My boys took pony rides, we took multiple tractor rides, both during the day and at night. We roasted marshmallows at the bonfire, took a ride to the Ghost Town (the kids did not want to go in), went on the bungee trampolines, climbed the rock wall, played in the fun barn, went on the paddle boats and fed the large fish! We played mini golf, played on the playground, and even my 4 year old went mountain tubing! We only attended one show during our stay, but it was excellent as well!

We all agreed that we cannot think of a single negative from our trip. It was the perfect family vacation!

I agree with another review that 5 stars aren't enough. Everything exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The staff are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond. The food was delicious, both the kids and adults all enjoyed! There was so much to do, it kept us busy and having fun the whole trip. The entire resort is efficient and runs so smoothly, it's clean and the rooms are spacious. Can't wait to go again!
