We just got back from our trip and think I can give a very fair assessment.
1. Not cheap, but includes all food and activities. Keep in mind, does not include alcohol or snacks.
2. Staff was A+, beyond cheerful and helpful beyond imagination.
3. Food was OK, not great. I would say it is definitely a 6 out of 10.
4. CLEAN - The rooms and facilities were spotless, they care about making sure guests don't see dirt in anyway shape and form.
5. Rooms - excellent layout for families, bathrooms look like they could be in a prison, however, they were clean as can be.
6. Pools - both inside and outside were fun and VERY well maintained.
7. Lifeguards were the most attentive I have ever seen, they take their job seriously to say the least.
8. Good family fun, what you do pay for, you wont feel gouged in the slightest.

Wo we go back..100% yes!

Negative reviews on RHR miss the point: this is all about kids: activities and fun. If you want a romantic getaway or great cuisine, look elsewhere. Also, I found the facilities to be clean (housekeeper confided that they are extremely rigorous - wash every last object on beds after each stay, bring in trained dogs to sniff for bedbugs every 2 weeks) and the staff friendly. My kids 5 and 12 are dying to go back, so I am sold

This was our first trip to the Rocking Horse Ranch and I must admit, with three boys, I was a little nervous that we would be pulling our hair out by the end of the 5 night stay. I was very happily mistaken! We had such a wonderful stay and the Rocking Horse Ranch has become our new favorite family vacation destination. (Yes, my boys rated it higher than Disney!) We stayed in the largest room they have available and it was roomy enough for all of us. We had two queen beds, plus a set of bunk beds for the two older boys, and plenty of room for a crib for our little guy. This all inclusive resort had three fabulous meals per day. The boys loved the self serve ice cream and beverage machines. The breakfast buffet was everyone's favorite, but every meal was delicious. And the staff was so friendly! One of our waitresses even let our son help her hand out our meals one night. The activities here are endless! We had two full rainy days and we still did not hear a single, "I'm bored"! We pretty much hit every activity during our stay. There is horseback riding (naturally), water skiing, banana boats, kayaking, pedal boats, huge outdoor pool with water slide, indoor water park with slide, wii room, the "fun barn" (with foam ball play yard, bounce castle, and ping pong), mini-golf, tennis, rock wall, sky bounce, rifle range, playground, scheduled group activites and more all included! Do not worry if you have never been horseback riding before as the staff was more than patient and even our 7 year old loved it! We all had a blast! Another plus, the day camp and day care options. I left my 9 month old at the day care two times so that I could also participate in the horseback riding and water sports. The staff at the day care was wonderful too!

More activities for kids than they can do in a weekend, but they'll want to do them all and many that adults can enjoy as well, but I can't imagine anyone without children choosing this resort. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient, and tipping is discouraged. Rooms are spacious, 2 king or queen beds plus bunk beds, cribs available. The food is plentiful, great variety, a lot of locally grown fruits and veggies and tasty. Nightly entertainment, again geared to the younger set, There is a bar with adult drinks at reasonable prices. No smoking. A bit pricey, but worth it.l
