I really enjoyed Limoncello in Goshen. We were treated to a local band who provided the music - sort of rock meets jazz, and the food was good, too.

It was Friday, 5/9. One of the worst nights at a restaurant. While the food is good, trying to get it is another story. The wait staff was terrible. Our party of 6 got our first round of drinks but after that, we waited at least another 1/2 hour before they told us the specials and then another 1/2 hour for them to take the order. We could not get water refilled or a second round of drinks. Never received the salad that was suppose to come with the entree. Not worth going back.

This was as bad a night at a restaurant as one could imagine. We showed up for our 730 res at 720 and we immediately placed at the wrong table.

After finally getting our waiters attention, we ordered our apps, salad and dinner. 8 pm, 830, 9pm went by and no food. We tracked down the waiter, then another and finally our apps came out. Now as 930 rolls by, still no dinner or salad. After pointing this out to the owner, he apologized and said he would get right on it. Dinner arrived at 945 without any salads. 3 of the meals were not as ordered.

Again we pointed this out to the owner who told us that he would take care of it later. The salads never came. When he offered us dessert and drinks which we couldn't accept since we were driving, he never adjusted the bill. Worse , he was non apologetic.

We will never go back and will make sure to let everyone we know what a nightmare it was. There are plenty of choices in the area.

Thankfully the band was the saving grace.

We went for lunch with a special long-time friend. There was a little chill in the air and we were seated close to the fireplace. It was the perfect cozy setting to catch up with an old friend. The place was fairly busy but not loud. It was easy to talk and we didn't have to wait too long for the food. My wife had the Chicken Limoncello and said it was delicious. I had a seafood over salad dish that was wonderful although a bit too much calamari for my taste but it was very good. (A calamari lover would be in heaven.) We shared some exquisite gelato based deserts and stayed to talk some more over coffee and tea. We never felt rushed. The wait staff was great. It all made for a delightful afternoon.

We have been frequenting this restaurant since it opened - the owners (Victor and Luigi) fixed up an old hotel, and the ambience is warm and comfortable. The food is always superb, and the specials are always varied and tempting. Try the cheese sampler for the appetizer! The service is always brisk and polite, the wait staff attends very well, without hovering. We have never had a bad meal (lunch or dinner), and this is my go-to place when entertaining employees from our other locations. They also offer outside dining during the warmer months, and have great holiday menus.
