Stayed one night in the family suite at William Smith Inn B&B in Geneva, NY. Could not have been happier with our stay. The house is a restored historic mansion with quality furnishings reflecting a period of great wealth. The rooms were huge with high ceilings and massive queen beds with plenty of room to relax. The bedding was lovely and extremely comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean.
The family suite has two bedrooms connected by a door. They share a common bathroom. Aveda toiletries were included in the bathroom that had a large shower area.
The hostess was extremely pleasant and helpful. My three-year-old grand daughter and her parents were spending the night, too. She was fascinated when the owner produced a special inflatable twin “balloon bed” for her to use. She loved it and went to sleep with no fuss.
Weekday breakfast was served in a large dining room. It consisted of toast and coffee with yogurt and fresh fruit compote. I believe weekend breakfasts offer a wider selection.
The location is a quiet street about 5 minutes from the center of town and Seneca Lake. The area has sidewalks and invites an evening stroll to admire the many styles of homes in the area and the domed observatory next door that was built long ago.
This would be a lovely setting for people doing tours on the wine trail. Also a very romantic setting for couples doing a weekend getaway. I believe the cost is comparable to the cost of the better big chain hotel in Geneva. It is also quieter and has a lot more atmosphere.

This place is sooo friendly. You will want to return. This was our second trip, and we will definitely be back. Theresa makes you feel so very welcome.

Room Tip: Every room is unique and all are great.

Theresa and David are great hosts! Very warm welcome at this beautiful Victorian Italianate villa in Geneva. Super location for exploring the Finger Lakes. Rooms immaculately clean and this is a highly recommended place to stay. Thanks! Seneca stole the show and we hope Dave has managed to get through some of his list of jobs! We were so pleased to be able to view the Observatory next door - what a treat!

My wife and I had a great stay. Friendly service, but not intrusive. As good as they are I am sure that they will only get better in the future!

My wife and I stayed here while visiting our daughter at HWS College. Wish we found this place sooner. Our room was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean, well appointed with some very nice antiques, beautiful woodwork, house was just as nice. Teresa the Inn Keeper was super friendly. We would certainly stay there again.
