“Upscale rooms that won't break the bank”
Reviewed 22 November 2009

I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express the last night of a four night driving trip from Texas to New England. After staying previous nights in Fairfield Inns & Four Points Sheratons that were all outstanding, I have to say that this property beat them all in quality of accommodations and the included breakfast.

The third floor king room was decorated in a very modern style, complete with a huge LCD TV and A+ comfortable bed. The wired and wireless internet were both fast. The bathroom had great, thick towels (better than any place I've stayed) and a good setup. Overall no complaints about the room.

The free breakfast was quite expansive and included eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, amazing cinnamon rolls, cereals, bagels, yogurt, fruit, and more. The coffee was good. Front desk staff were efficient although not especially friendly. I liked that you get a bottle of water upon check-in if you're a Priority Club member.

Nearby are many restaurants, Cracker Barrel being my favorite, plus Starbucks, and places to shop.

Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, even the most discriminating traveler. With modern and comfortable rooms and a great breakfast for a reasonable price, you can't go wrong.

This hotel was very comfortable and immaculate. Good beds, frig, microwave, huge TV, several drawers, two large shelves in the bathroom, thick towels, a business center where you could print out boarding passes, many choices for the complimentary breakfast, helpful and courteous staff.

I was completely blown away by how friendly the front desk staff was (especially Nancy and Sarah), they went completely out of their way for me and my group. The hotel itself was outstanding and amazing...clean, very new, spotless, loved the decor. The prices were also a major plus! I would definitly recommend this place to anyone and I would love to stay again when I'm in town.

I was very surprised when I walked into the lobby of this hotel - lots of shiny white and black decor, mirrors and glass - very chic! The breakfast area is just to the left as ou come in, furnished with funky black chairs and tables. In the seating area to the right, I noticed an unassembled puzzle with large clear plastic pieces placed invitingly on the coffee table. Walking to the elevator, I saw the indoor pool and whirlpool, furnished with bright red chairs.

The room itself was beautiful with black furnishings, a fridge and microwave, and the largest flatscreen TV I've yet seen in my hotel stays. The bed was tall and comfortable, with clean white linens and comforter, and a spare blanket draped across the foot.

The location was close to a number of restaurants, gas stations, and shopping, and was easily accessible from I-84. My AAA rate was $114 - a very nice hotel for the money!

Pros - Clean Rooms with Modern Style and Comfy Beds
Great Breakfast
Nice Fitness Area
Friendly and Helpful Staff

Walking Distance to - Pizza Hut, Cracker Barrel, Panera, Boston Market, WalMart, an All You can Eat Chineese Buffet, European Massage/Nail Salon, Sidewinders Mexican Restaurant, and Hibachi Grill. You do have to cross a highway for most of these places but there are good walk-ways.

Close drive to - Taco Bell, Wendy's, KFC, lots of little delis, Shop Rite grocery store, Unos, the Double O Grill.

About 30-40 minutes away are the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. They have stores like Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, and Versace. There are less expensive stores too.

If you want to go to a nice dinner go to the Newburgh Waterfront area. It's about 15 minutes away. There are lots of little restaurants on the Hudson River.

If you want to go to NYC, go to the Beacon train station (metro north). It is only 10 minutes away from the hotel. The train takes you right into grand central station and takes about an hour and 10 minutes. Once you get to the city you should buy a 7 dollar unlimited subway pass. The bus tours are around 50 dollars. You can save a lot of money by taking the subway but you'll have to figure out how to get everywhere yourself. They have tons of maps so it isn't too hard.

Cons-
The toilets seemed to break easily. The one in the front was always clogged.
