We came back from the resort today. I will never return. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy. I have never seen a hotel this overpriced, as it was a complete joke. The entire resort is run by teenagers and one older manager who is incompetent, and does not care at all about keeping the guests happy. We talked to the manager, Keisha, several times who tried to deflect the situation and did nothing to improve conditions. When we asked for the resort owner's phone number, she responded she "did not know it". There was actually an author/writer who was writing a review of the resort, who the manager jumped through hoops for, which is how this resort
makes their good reviews. But if you're anybody else, good luck. There is absolutely no customer service at this resort, and they are extremely unprofessional. The resort relies on unqualified teenagers to fix everything around the resort. This resort is only comparable to Econo Lodge, and I would take them over this resort. The room was $500 a night, not including tax. The resort charged as if they were a 5 star resort but did not live up to their accommodation promises at all.

I would rather sleep in my car, as it was cleaner than the "so-called" hotel rooms, if you even want to call them that. The size of the rooms are tiny, and can really only accommodate two people comfortably. There are no tables or chairs in the rooms, only a sofa pull out bed and a bed. There’s one air conditioner which is located in the bedroom but cannot be felt whatsoever where the sofa is located, leaving the other guests on your vacation to suffocate. Nothing was as promised, there are only two rooms with microwaves, and you must request a blow dryer. When we first arrived, the comforter I pulled out was not washed, as the guest before me had left a hairclip on the side of it. We also found a bra strap in the room that was not ours. Both outlets near the beds were broken and did not work. There was grime and crust left on the countertops-ALL obvious signs the room had not been cleaned. Tomato sauce from other guests lined the white sofa bed. And a woman I met at the hotel told me her white sofa had big brown stains, as if someone had an accident. The windows DON'T lock and do NOT have screens, so anytime anyone would like to get into the room, the window just has to be slid open. There is also blood and grease on the walls of the room, and the toilet seat broke our first day there. The next day, the "cleaning staff"-if that’s what you call them-did not come to make up our room, until I went to the desk and complained at about 5pm. On our final day there, we found liquid drugs in our room next to the garbage pail, with some other items that didn’t belong to us, which my 11 year old
daughter found. Anytime after 8pm there is no one near the front desk at all, so if you have an emergency, you’ll have to figure things out on your own.

Once outside the room, the back of the hotel looks like a small backyard barbeque area, with lounge chairs, a play house, a barbeque station that looks older than me, an old rusted shuffleboard table, dirty wet pool table, big chess pieces, and gigantic table with 4 chairs-straight out of beauty and the beast--all located on an incline of dead grass.

Beach personnel was another disaster. There was never any staff around to "accommodate to your every need", as described in the ad. Staff were rarely seen on the beach before 8pm, leaving guests to set up their own umbrellas and pull out their own heavy chairs. It was also not known that the hotel was in a flood zone during high tide. So unless you want to break your car's electrical system by going through three feet of water at around 10am or 9pm do NOT stay here.

Breakfast....HAH. Some breakfast. I understand it's continental but the bagels were stale, and the food was left to sit for hours. Breakfast consisted of one table with bagels, cereal, and a few mini muffins. Lunch was O.K. except for when the staff claimed they "ran out" of food. The hotel in general has a ton of building code violations. The screen doors have tears in them, and bugs are everywhere, it is impossible to keep your room free of bugs. The only plus to this vacation was the beach, but that is about all. The last thing this hotel offers is luxury.

And that Long Island Exchange located on the website is a total bust. Towards the end the writer stated that many visitors have contacted Long Island Exchange and have had terrible experiences... another misleading element.

We booked this place last minute when we had a free weekend to spare. We were pleasantly surprised with the place,. We reserved a small 1br room on the second floor. It's right on the beach in a very residential area of the Hamptons. With the exception of the "Jersey Shore" club a few houses down, it is very quaint and quiet. Quogue is nice and removed and this location is nestled between Westhamton and Hampton Bays close the the hampton madness but far enough to not be bothered . The service was great and accommodating and when our 1br cottage had a roof leak during our first night there, we were moved to a 2br cottage the very next day. The upgrade was great, but we loved the small room just as much! The room was decorated just adorable, and although it is not a 5 star hotel it really tried to give you your money's worth as as best a service as it could provide.

There were games, a big chess board, barbecue grills in the common areas, big comfy chairs, tables, a volleyball net by the beach, plenty of umbrellas, towels and chairs and beach games for kids and adults.

The hotel provides sodas, cold waters and a light breakfast. We did not make the lunch or bonfire dinners unfortunately, but it was great to know all of this was included in the price (oh and the snack bars, fresh fruit and coffee were great too!).

We both thought this great was ideal for families and friends wanting a weekend away to the beach. I have only great things to say, really and will definitely be coming back. We'd stayed in a place in Montauk last year and were so upset at the potential but lack of interest by the property owners, I commented to my husband this place did exactly what the other one could have done. I am uploading pics that i took, looking back I should have taken more of he items I described above, but maybe other reviewers will do the same.

We had another excellent stay here at Hampton Ocean Resort. We were on a family vacation, our kids are 8, 6 and 2. We really enjoy the fact that the rate includes a breakfast bar (yummy waffles) and lunch (grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwich & grilled cheese sandwiches). The rooms are very spacious, clean and always stocked with soda's and bottled water. In addition coolers containing soda's & water are located within the resort and on the beach. What a great value! The staff as usual are very kid friendly and always willing to help out. When lunch is available the resort staff actual came out to the beach where we were making a sand castle with the kids and took our order and then brought the sandwiches back to our lounge chairs. What great service! Lastly the location is ideal. We really enjoy exploring the local region and this resort is located only 15 minutes from West Hampton, 20 minutes from South Hampton and 40 minutes to East Hampton. If you enjoy shopping definitely hit up East Hampton and South Hampton. For a more casual night and great food hit up Margarita Grill in West Hampton. If you want a great restaurant and willing to pay a little more try Oaklands....just down the road (5 minutes). It's an open air restaurant that usually has a band playing in the evening. My wife and I really enjoy their Bloody Mary's. The entire bill + tip for a family of 5 was approx. $175.00. We will definitely go back there.

We booked this hotel because it was one of a very few that offered a one night stay on the week-end in June - which evidently is no longer the case. I have to say that my expectations were not high based on some of the older reviews but we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the property.
We were originally given a first floor room overlooking the parking lot. We asked if we could be moved and after a little bit of grumpiness over a higher rate for the 2nd floor (?) and our one night stay they did move us to the 2nd floor where we had a nice view of the sound.
The room itself was quite nice with a separate bedroom and a sitting room with a couch - 2 flat screen TV's and a small kitchenette with a fridge stocked with sodas, bottled water and various candy bars and fruit treats - all complimentary. The only negative thing about the room is that while they have dishes and coffee mugs there was not one glass - water, juice or wine glass. We brought some wine with us and ended up drinking it out of paper cups that were in the coffee area in the lobby. When we asked if they had wine glasses the front desk person said that they really should look into that as many guests ask for them.....
Outside of that the property is really nice. There are tables with chairs and lounge chairs outside, all over the place - on both levels of the hotel as well as a grassy area inbetween the hotel and the ocean and on their private beach. There was really no one on the beach when we were there but I could see where that would be a huge plus during peak summer season when the beach becomes crowded.
The breakfast was quite nice - bagels, fruit, waffles, etc - and included in the room charge. Plenty of coffee and tea choices as well.
The highlight of our stay was the bonfire on the beach at night. We walked down to the beach after dinner and had a very nice end of our evening sitting by the fire and listening to the waves crash on the beach. We were offered smores but didn't partake.
We also had a wonderful morning walk on the beach before leaving.
I would definitley recommend this hotel for both couples and families. There looked to be many things for kids to do in and around the hotel.
