Went in after visiting Peak Wildlife with the kids. We were sat and our food was ordered quite quickly. It was very busy but food was coming out all the time so we weren’t worried. 45 mins in and still no food with 4 very hungry children. We hadn’t been told about any delays or problems. After seeing 2 or 3 other tables that came in after us get their food, I went to the counter to ask why there was such a delay. Another 5-10 mins and nothing. Then the kids meals came out and all of their food was cold and burned. We decided that was enough we weren’t staying; the kids tried to eat a few chips to tide them over but even these were dry and over cooked. Staff weren’t rude but they didn’t seem to fussed either. Would NEVER return or even recommend. Wouldn’t even give one star. Shame really it’s a nice looking place.

I arrived on a sunny afternoon on a classic motorcycle after a ride in the sun. I feel that because I walked in wearing a motorcycle jacket and carrying a helmet, I was treated like a second class citizen
I advised them I was sitting outside in the sun. Unlike the majority, I was asked to pay before my food was delivered. I had ordered a sandwich and unlike the rest of the customers, mine came in a takeaway box. I was also told how the sieve worked for the tea.
Really, I am a professional in my employment and dine in many of the finest restaurants. I was treated abominably
The overall experience was appalling . A real lesson in customer service and values is required here

We are sorry to see you feel like you were treated like a second class citizen, we have many cyclists and motorcyclists visit us here and we welcome anyone who comes through our door. I think there was a misunderstanding with your ticket, and the chef thought you were taking out, so I can only apologise for this mistake, and make sure it doesn't happen again. We do hope you will visit us again and we can make your experience with us a better one. Many thanks

We timed our drive from the north west to Alton Towers to accommodate breakfast at The Cottage Kitchen having been very impressed on a previous trip.
Sadly there were a number of shortcomings on this visit.
Service was ‘friendly enough’ but not very genuine and hard to get attention (despite being the only customers).
Cumberland sausage was woefully underdone.
Mushrooms were cool verging on cold.
I’m sure both of these would have been rectified if we’d mentioned them, but wanting to be at A.T for opening time precluded this. And neither item should have been allowed out of the kitchen in the first place.
Pancakes were nice but strangely thick - perhaps 3/4 of an inch, more waffle like than pancake like.
All told it just wasn’t good enough for the price and had the feel of a great place that’s been allowed to coast towards mediocrity.

Thanks for taking the time to review us. We are sorry to see you didn't quite enjoy your visit with us on this occasion. We would have certainly rectified these problems as fast as we could if they had been mentioned at the check back, so I am very sorry that this has happened this time. Our pancakes are American pancakes so they do tend to be a little bit thicker than the standard pancake. I'm sorry that the service didn't feel very genuine and you found it hard to get the attention of staff, this is not something that happens often, as we do pride ourselves on great customer service so I can only apologise that we fell short of that on your visit. If you would like to discuss this matter any further please don't hesitate to contact us on 01538 308505 and Joanne the manager will be more than happy to speak with you. We do hope that you will visit us again and have a better experience. Kind regards.

This became our go to for breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay in Leek. Even during really busy periods, the girls here work hard to give a good service.
The menu is great, whether you want a large meal or just a snack. Perfect kids menu too all at a great price. They have fresh cakes and specials on ever day.
A little shop full their own brand of produce, fresh bread, fudge and gifts.

The staff are friendly, and the premises very clean.

Try the beef bap. My husband said it was the nicest thing he’d ever eaten!

My daughters loved the sign above the toilets....Men to the left, because Women are always right.

Couldn’t thing of a bad thing to say at all!
