“Great Memory”

Tom, the manager, welcomed us during our Hall of Fame visit. He was assessable during our entire three days there. The restaurant downstairs was very convenient, reasonabely priced and it had great food choices. The food service, especially from Rene, was exemplary. The room costs were VERY FAIR and we were only 1/2 block from the HOF and a block from the lake. It's a cool old hotel with character/characters. However, if you want sterile, look for the Holiday Inn.

We'd definitely go back if we are lucky enough to be in Cooperstown, NY, again.

We recently took a family trip to Cooperstown for my father-in-law's birthday. We settled on the Tunnicliff in due to its location in the center of town. We stayed in the King suite, with adjoining double room for the kids. At check-in, the front desk personnel was somewhat cool, and abrupt. The Inn is old and could use some updating (leveling of the floors, new carpet in certain parts downstairs). The room was functional, and met our needs, but for the rate that we were paying, I guess I expected a bit more in terms of overall quality. Location-wise, the Tunnicliff is top-notch, as it's right in the center of town - walking distance to the baseball Hall of Fame, and dining establishments. The breakfast was decent, but nothing to write home about. Nobody who worked at the inn seemed to have any desire to engage any of the guests in conversation, save one restaurant employee who I bumped into out back. If I did go back to the Tunnicliff, I would probably downgrade rooms, getting a king with two rollaways, as our king with attached double was priced higher than the value it provided. All in all, it wasn't a bad stay, but it was nothing to write home about either. I would suggest to anybody from the Inn who might read this, that you provide your staff with hospitality customer service training, and provide better toiletries. This may seem like nitpicking, but the soap and shampoo were the worst my whole party had ever encountered at a hotel/inn/b&b (you might want to bring your own, if you want any sort of lather).

We were so pleased when we checked in to our rooms here. With our two kids my husband and I had a king room adjacent to a double and each room had its own bathroom. It was quaint and old and clean. My brother had a single for $84 (!!) with 10 feet ceilings, a couch, flat screen, and tons of room. The free breakfast buffet was fine - not gourmet but did the trick and we were right in the heart of the town, steps from all the shops, pubs, and the Hall of Fame. Would definitely go again!

My wife and I both have very hectic jobs. Add in caring for our 6 yr old, and the maintenance of our home and property, and weeks slip by without much fanfare. For our anniversary we were looking for a quiet, relaxed, reasonably priced weekend getaway. The Tunnicliff Inn in Cooperstown, NY fulfilled each and every one of these requirements. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate. The Pit restaurant served wonderful food at very reasonable prices, with fantastic service. The Inn is quiet and has an old time charm. My wife and I both travel often on business trips. We are accustomed to the standard chain hotel room. Our room at the Inn was very "homey" which sets it apart from any place else we've stayed. The town of Cooperstown is beautiful. The Main St gave us the impression of Main St USA out of any movie. This was our 2nd trip to Cooperstown and will certainly not be our last. For sure, we will make the Tunnicliff Inn our choice for lodging when making the trip to Cooperstown.
