“Beautiful campground and beach on a pristine alpine lake”

We continue to be impressed by the excellent conditions of the NYS campgrounds. GSP is less than 10 miles from Cooperstown, NY, so book early because it fills up quickly in the Summer. Perfect for a family get together or romantic getaway. Sites are secluded and private, and we never even thought of putting on our bathing suits. Well kept hiking trails abound for all levels of hikers. The roads outside the park are narrow and hilly, so bike with caution.

Nice Park by the water, there are benches and a nice waterfront area and large rolling lawn down to the waters edge

My mother and I arrived for a few days of relaxation and truly enjoyed the change of color on the trees. Absolutely breathe taking!

Worth the effort to drive through this park in order to appreciate the preservation of this gorgeous lake from overdevelopment. The views of the lake here are probably nit much changed from the 18th C. We visited on a sleepy Saturday morning at end of September; but I expect it gets crowded in the summer season. Swimming, camping, picnicking. Don't miss the oldest covered bridge in the US on site.

This was our second camping visit. This is a small campground with only 39 sites. All have 30 Amp service. It's hard to pick a site. There are really no bad ones. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Sites have lush lawns with crushed stone pads - no mud here. Bath house - 1 for all 39 sites is clean and comfortable. The lake, hiking trails and the Hyde Hall mansion make this State Park a real winner.
