Beautifully curated pieces, objects, film clips, stories, news items, and information of the colorful, musically infused, and politically explosive times of the SIXTIES, Woodstock, included! It's worth the trip. Great for teen to seniors. Take your time / can be done in one leisurely afternoon or before a concert. I guarantee, the visit will lead to discussion afterward.
See Destination:The Sixties. Also 'Rights, Race, & Revolutions' is a 2016 Exhibit and couldn't be more timely - must see.

This gem in Bethel, NY is a must stop for anyone who lived through the 60s, went to the Woodstock concert, ever heard anything about the Woodstock concert, or who wants to know how that period in American history shaped our country. The building and the grounds are gorgeous, and the museum has various sections devoted to the times and the music. An absolute must see.

If you weren't part of the experience or lived in the area, this museum will give you as close to it as possible! Everything I remembered, things I didn't see or hear - it's all there. And you can spend hours there!!! A must see - and you must take in a concert either at the indoor or outdoor pavilion for the total "Woodstock" experience.

The museum is well done with 3-4 exhibits, a small cafe and beautiful vistas. We spent 1.5 to 2 hours total looking at everything and absorbing the info. Not only the Woodstock event of 1969 with music scene of the time is explained but also the life and politics in the 60s are well represented.

... how we lost our way so badly.
Step back in time to a cry for peace and love.
Maybe it will rub off on us today in 2016.
Must-see for lovers of peace and music.
