The host is kind and very easy to communicate with. The first night I stayed alone and it felt safe and gracious. It was great to have eggs, fresh bread, coffee and milk in the morning included! And lovely to eat in the host's garden! You're walking distance to downtown so can get on well without a car, too. I worked mostly from the local library, which was great. The second night, two coworkers joined me for a small work retreat. We were able to use the dining room and living room area, and that was a great fit for our group. We enjoyed the beautiful art around the house, and the guitar, too!

Stayed in the Brown room (the smaller of the two rooms offered) and enjoyed the stay. Bathrooms, bedroom and common areas were clean and open. Easy access to the metro north and Beacon shops. No issue with noise. Would highly recommend for weekend trip.

Beacon Bamboo Forest is smack in the middle of town - a perfect walk down Main St, from the Metro North, or to sites like Dia and the nearby waterfall. Jessica made us feel right at-home; we had full kitchen and bathroom access and she even offered us some homegrown basil to cook with! She is readily available via cell or in the guesthouse next-door, and her home is beautifully adorned with her own art, complete with fresh towels and bedding. We could see the tall bamboo from our window -- this is the perfect place for our quick retreat from NYC and we are already planning our 2nd stay with Jessica!

The perfect home our first time in Beacon, reflecting the town's artsy-quirky charm. Jessica was genuinely gracious and made us feel instantly at home. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our favorite section was the bamboo garden, especially at night. We looked forward to coming home and sitting at the picnic table, peeking at the stars through cracks in the ceiling of bamboo foliage. We are so pleased to have found this centrally located haven in one of our new favorite upstate spots.

Jessica was a wonderful host! For a first time and last-minute trip to Beacon (on a busy labor day weekend!) they stay was a pleasant surprise and very accommodating. The stay is in one of, I believe, 3 rooms. So you'll stay with other guests. From our experience, this was not an inconvenience at all as the folks that day/night were pleasant yet kept to themselves (my ideal!). Jessica's home is a welcome haven for city folks. Aside from the room, she welcomes you to use her kitchen and living room (with TV, piano and guitar!) Though, for our short trip most of our time was spent outside. Beacon Bamboo Forest is located SMACK in the middle of town. One-two blocks gets you to main street. Would definitely consider again!
