Just a few minutes from the pleasant and interesting village of Barrydale - the tearoom&computer centre + wifi, a wondrous secondhand bookshop opposite - Bronze Grove Farm sits astride the highway against the mountain. We were in one of the two cottages to the west of the road, away from the farm, both separately located by the stream in perfect peace.
Our cottage was open-plan, light and clean and was well equipped, double doors opening out onto the stoop with a grassy bank running down to the river. Walks along the river we're delightful and longer, more strenuous trails go steadily up into the hillside by the farm and eventually overlook Barrydale. This is comfortable walking. We enjoyed 3 lovely days.

A spacious open-plan cottage set 20m from the Tradouw River, very near the opening to the Pass and well off the road; it's west of the road and the farmhouse is on the main farm area to the east. Lovely peaceful walks along the bank and more demanding scenic walks by the dam and amongst the animals going past the main farmhouse.
We loved it. Barrydale is a few minutes away and provided happy hours at a wifi cafe and in an extensive bookshop organised by a literary fanatic - whoopee! Good local store too.
Apart from 5 minutes with Percy after we arrived we saw no-one else at Bronze Grove Farm.

We stayed for two nights at River Indlu and wished we could have stayed for many more! The cottage was private and cozy, and the attention to detail was fantastic. From our warm greeting on arrival by Percy, to the farm fresh eggs and milk that were left for us, to the impeccably decorated and spotlessly clean cottage - everything was perfect. The setting is beautiful, right by a clear river and up against the mountains, and we really enjoyed taking a walk around the farm and fishing (catch and release) at the farm dam. Braais on the patio in the evening to cap off a perfect and restful day! Cannot wait to come back.

Everything we wanted! We booked in for 10 days whilst doing dog field trials in Barrydale, we were welcomed with our two Labradors. And we didn't feel that the dogs couldn't do their thing, theres no fencing, but we didn't need that. The whole setup was divine, well equipped, well serviced by the awsum Percy. Everything was seriously as we wanted. We have BOOKED for next year already!

Room Tip: Near to Barrydale town, but not IN it. No noise, no interruptions, pure beauty

I was looking for a romantic place to go after our wedding. Perfect place and blown away with the attention to detail. View, bed, bath, outside shower and braai all amazing. We were exhausted from the wedding prep and day and could not think of a better place to spend our first two nights. Barrydale has some great spots to spend time, but we couldn't wait to get back and enjoy the accomodation.
Having a glass of wine while the braai is going and watching baboons play across the river was a welcome escape.

Thank you Bronze Grove
