Period correct. Nicely restored and/or maintained thru the years. Very clean. Neat murals painted in the open garages. Nice owners/operators. Heat worked just fine for a November stay. Clean. Interesting vintage items in the rooms.

Another gem courtesy of tripadvisor.

We stopped at the Blue Swallow on a whirlwind roadtrip through the desert southwest. I was very interested in at least driving by and was willing to leave the immediate area of I-40 just to see what promised to be a very cool-retro place on Route 66. Most of the highlights that the Blue Swallow offers have been more than adequately covered by other reviewers, however, I encourage travelers to at least drive by to take a look at this wonderfully restored (not renovated, big difference here). The fixtures, lighting and all other details have been painstakingly preserved through the great efforts of the owners, who were also very gracious and informed hosts who also referred us to a nearby restaurant where we enjoyed the best meal on our trip. The business is family owned and has obviously been a labor of love for them. We really enjoyed the discourse around the campfire on a beautiful, moon and neon lit evening.

My son and I had the pleasure to stay at the Blue Swallow on a recent motorcycle trip along Route 66. It was everything we had wanted, retro, neon, history and a great homey feel. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful and they had a great puppy that welcomed us upon our arrival. I can’t say enough good things about our experience at the Blue Swallow Motel. We will definitely be returning.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Blue Swallow! Our room was cozy & we enjoyed sitting out on our porch listening to the music they have piped in- it's a little like stepping back in time with all the neon lights and murals. Jessica & Cameron were so welcoming & friendly! We even enjoyed a fire outside the night we were there & visited with other travelers. We will definitely stop there again if we make another route 66 road trip!

Room Tip: All of the rooms seem pretty similar, all with chairs in front and a parking space. I think there may be one room that is kind of a suite.

What a great place to stop for the night! The owners are helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are small but cozy and spotless. The neon signs are so fun and the evening campfire topped off a perfect night. The city is economically depressed but take a moment and see the murals.
