We were attracted by the outside lunch menu listing steak tartare which is hard to find. Choosing the pleasant outside patio, we were amused by the waiter binging a dog bowl full of water to an adjoining table for a very well behaved pet who seemed to be a revered local. The steak tartare did not disappoint, the lobster bisque was outstanding and we then proceeded to the pleasant inside dining room as rain began to fall. Our server Jesse quickly located us inside at a lovely table by the window where we enjoyed the rest of our meal.

I had lunch here (chicken fried steak, soup salad ) and was disappointed - For the price I thought it should have been better. Upscale and on the main street, they are friendly and courteous. Good wine list. I didn't try the steaks.

We had a superb dinner at Martyrs on a weekday evening, with mountain views and music wafting over from Kit Carson Park. We've dined here before in cooler weather and had always wanted to try the patio. We loved the experience, and were very impressed with the food and the service. My husband loved the tournedos (beef), and I enjoyed the salmon on a bed of quinoa with sautéed spinach. A chilled bottle of sparkling rosé (Gruet) was the perfect accompaniment for our dinner. For romantic dining and excellent food, Martyrs is one of the best in Taos!

We had dinner here and although we dined on the patio, the dining room/bar area was quite lovely. If you like steak tartar this is a place to have it. Great flavor with capers and onions, bread toasted perfectly. Pork chop was good, rack of lamb was good as well. Service was so so. Our server was very professional, but seeing as Taos is a tourist town he seemed like he had been working at the restaurant for quite awhile and over the serving tourists thing. Pleasant enough, but nothing memorable. Cocktails and dessert of flourless chocolate torte was delish. Over all we will definitely be back.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and everything was great! They comped our dessert because it was our anniversary.

Steaks, salad, oysters and chocolate tort were perfect.

Service was 5 star plus. Great restaurant and even greater staff.
