What can we say about Serondella? From the moment we arrived we were greeted by our friendly hosts Christie and Neil and some of the staff and was blown away by every little aspect.

We had never been on safari before and didn’t know what to expect. We stayed at Serondella for 3 nights but on our last day we didn’t want to leave and could easily have stayed for a few more nights.

It is one of the smaller lodges in Thornybush with a maximum of 10 guests which is perfect if you are looking for something intimate. It also gave you great access to your hosts who made you feel very welcome and had a family feel about it.

Our room was much bigger and beautiful than expected. I don’t think the photos on the website give it enough justice much. It was fantastic to see Ngala and monkeys on our back porch too.

We stayed at Serondella over Valentine’s Day and when we returned to our room after a night trek I was wonderfully surprised to see that they organised roses, chocolates, drawn a bubble bath with champagne and private dining for us.

The treks were spectacular and I think we were very lucky to have such a great guide in Neil and trekker in Celebrate. They really love what they do and you can tell as they were always searching for amazing things for us to see.

The food at Serondella was delicious. Given that my partner and I are such foodies, we were thoroughly impressed. From the early morning snacks on your game drive, breakfast to afternoon tea, snacks whilst having your evening sun downer to dinner.

I could not recommend Serondella enough. Everyone was so genuinely lovely, knowledgeable and hospitable. It was the lovely little touches to every aspect of the trip that made it for us.

A massive thank you to Christie and Neil for what capped off an amazing trip to South Africa. We have been telling all of our friends about it and we definitely hope to come back to Serondella in the future.

We are definitely missing our sundowners and watching the magnificents susnsets.

The two hour drive to the lodge was long but worthwhile. Lodge is amazing and you really are in touch with nature. Game drives were lovely... i thought waking up at 5am would be an issue but everyday was a new adventure and thus made it feel great to wake up and experience the wild! Hospitality was great, all the staff at the lodge make you feel welcome. Being on honeymoon we were treated with a romantic dinner in the tree :) and found champagne and a nice hot bubble bath filled with fresh petals after dinner :)

We stayed here for two nights on our recent visit to South Africa and we enjoyed every moment from we arrived until checking out . I agree with the previous review, everything about this game lodge is absolutely amazing! Food, service, accommodation and the safari drives were beyond our expectation.
It is a small resort with few lodges (less than five I believe), so everything was very personal and relaxing!Had a lovely time and would like to thank you Neil and Christy for making our stay a memorable one!

I dont want to write this review, I want to keep this place a complete secret! Everything about this place is beyond comparison, the accomodation, the staff, the food, the location, and most of all the experience. Travelling with two children that could easily be eaten, our requirements was something personal and intimate. Wow did this fit the bill , with your own personal guide and tracker David and Mpho had us so close to the animals a wide angle lens was needed. All the big 5 most days and excellent informative safaris, my kids were treated like royalty and loved every minute. The meals were awsome and nothing was too much trouble, arrived as VIPS and left as friends, cant thank you enough David and Kelly!

Room Tip: The family suite was perfect.

The young managers couple of Serondella are really doing great. The place is a dream, the staff is great and the chef (cook) really is one we will remember. The safari drives are excellent, not just "a guided tour". The place has only 4 lodges and for that its very personal; both with the staff and with the other guests.
