The old world charm of Ngala and MK, our exemplary Butler made our stay unforgetable

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 May 2023
Ngala Tented Camp is an &Beyond Camp in a private concession inside the Kruger National Park.We were informed that the property is owned by WWF and leased to &Beyond. My trip to South Africa covering 3 lodges was very ably and skilfully planned by Marlise Maritz, a tour expert & specialist at &Beyond and she had highly recommended this Camp.

What we liked at Ngala:

1.A property with an old world charm
2.The tents were old style but with ample of space
3.The open shower at the back was invigorating, particularly after each safari
4.The verandah outside the tent was enjoyable with Impala's teeming all around and a good place to have a snooze or a quiet lunch
5.Laundry service was excellent.Even laundry collected in the afternoon was delivered the same day
6.The bonfire in the dining area in the evening for dinner was enchanting
7.Dennis,the Camp manager was friendly and made the guests at ease and comfortable
8.Early morning tea & coffee with biscuits were delivered with the wake up call at the tent
9.My heavy equipment with lens and cameras were carried for me to and from after every safari
10.Trico, the Ranger was confident, good and knowledgeable and we enjoyed interacting with him during the game drives and at the Boma dinners
11.The wildlife sightings were excellent, though we did not see the White Lions ,despite every effort by Trico.

MK, the personal Butler allowed to us was superb. He lived upto the high standards set by &Beyond and was attentive and thoughtful to our every requirement.

Thank you,Ngala

We had the most wonderful 3 night stay at Ngala. The service, professionalism and attention to detail across all areas was phenomenal. The accommodation is stylish, comfortable and immaculately clean & well cared for. The food is superb - even fussy vegetarians like me are welcomed :-) I was amazed to have on and off menu choices. Then the star attraction of game drives is utterly fantastic! The land & animals are respected, tracking & spotting techniques are traditional and very effective and the guides are friendly & knowledgeable. We made new friends even in 3 days and left with warm hearts. Huge thanks to Amy, Mishack, David, Dennis and everyone who made our first Safari so special.

This was the last stop for my husband and I on our honeymoon - and thank god because it could not be topped! We had an absolutely incredible time and may have teared up a bit when leaving the amazing staff on our last day. Our butler, David, always made sure we were taken care of - and even surprised us with a poolside romantic dinner on our last night. When I would say I wasn't hungry for a full meal, the staff would easily provide a lighter alternative. Our ranger, Amy, and tracker Mishack made an amazing team for memorable game drives - each one was full of surprises and fun things to learn even outside of viewing the big 5.

We also spent one night in the treehouse which was an amazing experience. We went on our afternoon game drive but I would recommend skipping it to be able to enjoy the treehouse fully. They set up an amazing amount of sundowner snacks and drinks for you to enjoy on the top level. Then, dinner is driven over to you at your requested time. There are too many drinks and snacks to even possibly enjoy but make the experience absolutely incredible. The set up in the treehouse was amazing and we had an extremely comfortable night of sleep after viewing the stars and listening to all the amazing calls of nature.

We cannot wait to come back!

My husband and I came here for part of our honeymoon and it was such an amazing, memorable experience. Our guide Marcus and tracker Ernest made it extra special! We saw so many beautiful animals but also learned so much about them and the land. Marcus and Ernest are the absolute best!! Thank you for everything.

The food was delicious and you never went hungry. The tents were beautiful, with great AC (we went during their summer so that says a lot!), and had elephants walk right by our tent multiple times. Such a special place!

An unforgettable time, made possible by the incredible staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was outstanding. Our guides Stephen and Chris were fantastic. So entertaining and funny and went above and beyond to find us animals that we hadn’t yet seen on safari which was a difficult task as this was our last camp, and yet they managed to do it. Thankyou to you all for all your effort in making Jorgias birthday so amazing.

A friend and I recently spent 3 days at Ngala - what a fantastic experience. It was like being with a wonderful family - everyone was so welcoming, friendly and courteous. The tented accommodation was great, the catering 'out of this world'. We had a superb guide, Trico, accompanied by the equally brilliant Ernest - thank you both so much. We can't wait to revisit Ngala in 2023 - simply the best!
