Marvellous individual game drives!
Very beautiful unique lodge, inspired by African tradition.
Incredibly friendly staff and owners, always making sure the guests are happy.
A remote and secluded paradise.

Makumu Lodge was the highlight of our visit to South Africa. This is a very small lodge with only a handful of jaw-droppingly, gorgeously decorated rooms. The staff, the food, the pool, the views and the upkeep are all top notch. We were situated on a large private reserve that backs onto the Kruger National Park. Animals can wander in and out at their discretion. After a 4 night stay and 8, 3.5 hour game drives in an open Land Rover, we saw most of the game we came to view and had several thrilling interactions with animals. We followed a pride of lions and were very close to elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, leopards, gnu, impala, etc. The guide and the tracker were excellent at finding game for us, very knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be with. What a fabulous adventure. Thanks so much.

Chris and Janet were perfect hosts.

Staying in Makumu was an amazing experience, and gave us some quality family time which we are grateful for. The atmosphere, the quality of food at the care of the staff made us feel home, while the game drives gave us some unique exciting safaris (and view of a Pangolin!)

Definitely a great choice. We will refer the lodge to our friends and hopefully be back ourselves soon

We have spent 2 days. Absolutely nothing to criticate. Everything was wonderful, the transfert from Eastgate airport, the warm and personalized welcome, all the friendly staff, the excellent meals, the great confort of the place and finally the game drives absolutely exciting.
Huge thanks to everybody.

We spent two nights with our three teens, their first time in Kruger. Located just 90 Minutes away from Hoedspruit Airport we found a real paradise. Chris and Janet looked fantastic after us. As we were the only guests we experienced two days like we were in our own house. Very well equipped, so many great little areas to chill and zip a Glas of wine. The rooms were super clean, no mosquitos nor spiders.
Spectacular views from rooms and the lodge. Breakfast, lunch and especially dinner at the Boma was fantastic. Great wine selection.
And the greatest of all was this wonderful pool! So clean and nature like. Sometimes the animals come close and take a zip of water.
Owners doing a great job in keeping the maintenance very high, even if Lodge is 15 years old it looks and feels brand new.
Of course wildlife is great in Krüger, this lodge covers a large enough area to experience some great game drives.

Room Tip: All rooms equally great
