Holiday Inn Express Albuquerque South - Belen

We stayed one night while on the way home. The room was clean, large enough to move around and the exercise equipment all worked. The breakfast was good and the staff was nice, although at check-in they did not seem to know what a Priority Member was did not care. I missed getting my little bag of goodies. The inside is well maintained. The outside could use a little help. Weeds have been growing in the parking lot paving for a long time. It appears the hotel is going downhill. The location is quiet with a little scenery. Also the hotel is set up for large meetings.

This is a great place for a overnite pit stop or if you are in town for business for multiple nights. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Free breakfast buffet that is fair. The rooms are very clean and nice and have flat screen tv's. I will stay again when passing thru.

The Good: Clean, New, Decent Staff.
The Bad: Little cheap bits, walls a bit thin

Look it's a HI express not the Waldorf. I have stayed here twice. The cookies are warm, the WIFI works fine for me, the place is new and clean. There is a nice attempt to blend into southwest culture with the decor.

The shower curtains are a little short for the showers. Someone has decided that all new hotels have sinks built for gnomes (tiny, too small to fill the iron or use as an actual sink). The walls are a little thin. Overall pretty good.

This hotel is just off I25 and meets what one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express, but there are no good restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. Belen has just one good Mexican resturant and a few fast food places.

I am a road warrior. Lobby/gym/common spaces were all nice and on par with most HIE. Rooms seem like they have been renovated but furnature was a little dated. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were very clean.

Staff is what brought this hotel down a few pegs. The woman at the desk told me they accepted my corporate lodging card but I had to have corporate call to make reservation, which was wrong. When arriving she was sitting in the dining area/loung watching tv, which I realized is what she did all evening after seeing her there several times. The same woman was on breakfast duty the next morning, which she set up about 30 minutes late. seems like with unemployment at almost 10% there would be a more qualified employee out there.

oh and I had a very weak internet signal which really annoys me.
