“Quiet Oasis in central Seminyak”
Reviewed 11 March 2012

Just back from a short stay at Teka Teki. Fantastic location, right in the hub of Seminyak, but located in a quiet location downa lane off Jalan Raya. The staff were fantastic ,and the owners were so helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and breakfast was included, very yummy Indonesian choices available!!!
My only downside to the stay were the cranky people at the pool down the road. Since the homestay doesnt have a pool there is a pool for use nearby.A nominal fee is expected with the purchase of a drink or the like. There was noone else using the pool, when we were there, but if you just want a quick dip,it is a bit of a hastle haggling over buying something to have a swim.
I would highly reccomend the home stay

Room Tip: The 2 adjoing rooms across the road would be great for friends travelling together or a family

Hi, I really enjoyed staying there and found the location extremely convenient. Owners are really nice and helpful.
I stayed in the Baris room, very clean, verry nice BUT you have to have quiet and considerate 'neighbours' or this is it for your quiet night or morning.
Other little thing, although it is very nice to have an open 'roof' shower, not sure about the toilets... When it does rain, it is ... Interesting.
Once again, it was very nice and I'd go back, maybe I would pick another room if I get organised in advance unless I am going with friends that can stay in the 'attached' room.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one if you are sensitive to noise

Simple, clean, comfortable, great price for the area and the hosts are fantastic. What more can I say ? Enjoyed the breakfasts too. Has some western luxuries as well (flatscreen, dvd, air;con) Located at the end of a small back street (not scarey) but still close to the action. It was surprisingly quiet considering its location. Jules and Agung (owners) were a wealth of info and made us feel more than welcome. Will certainly stay there again when visiting the Seminyak area

We were in a group and occupied the whole house and one new room opposite the house. All of the rooms were beautifully decorated. I especially like the top level room (fan) and the shared bathroom! The water pressure was great and bathroom was spacious..
What was also good was the communal pantry with free flow of hot or cold water/coffee/tea. and breakfats was large and tasty..!
I liked the short cut to to the beach that lead tgo the main road. It might take 10 minutes walk to the beach, some might moan, but it was fine with me.
The staff were also great, and of course for Jules and Donny..!
It might be a bit dark to walk to the place at night from the main road.. but it was safe.. You could ask for a torchlight from the teka teki.
My top recommendation...

Where would you find accomodation where the owners ask you if you are interested in coming supermarket shopping with them to see that side of Bali life? Teka-Teki House is the place!!! Jules, the owner, thought I might find it interesting and I did!
What makes this place is the people that run it.
Jules and Agung have answered every question I have asked or found out the answer. They recommended a bike tour, Bali Hai Bike Tour, that has been a highlight so far. A magic day. They also provided the name of an excellent driver who has taken me on a full day trip to East Bali. I even had a massage in my room by Jules's regular therapist!
For a single, woman traveller I could not have asked for better help or attention.
Thank you, Jules and Agung

Room Tip: I was in the Barong room. As the room is on the ground floor and the window looks onto the verandah...
