Fantastic position on the main street of Franschhoek you cannot miss Le Coin Francais. We did not book but there were tables on the verandah free (I think the other patrons wanted air conditioning inside!) and service was impeccable. We decided to have a blow out and went for the pairing tasting menu. We therefore tasted 12 different dishes with 12 different wines between us as a couple, so we took our time and had a fabulous evening listening to the delicious descriptions from our maitre d' and the very knowledgeable sommelier. This team clearly works together and respects each other and their chef. One small criticism is that our ears got a little weary from the superlative adjectives used for the wines, but then again my palate is not so sophisticated and I am happy to admit it. I am sorry that some people gave this a place bad review and had a bad experience but I always check out their own credentials before taking things too much to heart - see how many reviews they have actually written and how many of those were bad. People love to complain, but to compliment - not so much! We will be advising all our overseas visitors to come and eat here even if they only have one night in town.
