“Struggling to find a positive”
Reviewed 4 March 2012

I attended a meeting at this hotel so it made sense to stay here. The rooms are comfortable and are a good size, but they are old and dark - the hotel and rooms are very out of date and in need of renovation. However, even if this happened, a big issue with this hotel is the isolation. It's not possible to walk anywhere at all. Also it's very spread out so depending on where your room is, there can be lots of walking from rooms to meeting rooms etc. So of all the places I've stayed in/near Princeton in the last year or so (Peacock Inn, Nassau Inn, Hyatt, Westin Forrestal & here) this is at the bottom of the list. The only positive things I can say are that the rate was competitive, food is very cheap, and the staff very helpful. Marriott can and should do better.

Stayed for a second time on business and first impressions reconfirmed.

Its just average in every respect.

Modest sized rooms looking a little tired with just about okay presentation.

Most staff just going through the motions - they say the right things but not in a very convincing way and just that strange forced smile. Maybe they know its just average too.

Food choices limited - same menu in the restaurant as the bar - seems odd. Restaurant especially souless.

Very expensive considering the overall quality. Absolutely not a $300+ experience.

There must be better options locally and next time will make more of an effort to find one.

Over the years, I stayed numerous times here, and it is def the best hotel in the area.
Less than a mile from Route 1 (with some shopping and restaurants around 5-10 min drive). The hotel is nicely located in the woods and not the typical Marriott style. Rooms are large and clean - all with small kitchenette, but decor is outdated.
They have a bar and restaurant which is quite ok, also a small pool and gym. They also offer Spa - even if I never had the time to try it out.
It is a business hotel but really quite.

This hotel is a great business hotel--they have lots of meeting rooms, decent food, plenty of parking. If you are visiting someone attending Princeton--it works from a leisure perspective too. There is a spa on location. The lobby is large with lots of seating. The conference rooms are easy to find. There is a hotel restaurant--it is fine, particularly for breakfast. But, if you have a car, I would go into Princeton for dinner. The concierge lounge serves a good range of food as well. The rooms are fine--they could use a spruce up--they feel alittle dark, some of the furniture such as the nightstands/drawers are older. The rooms really need outlets by the beds. It is impossible to charge your phone on the nightstand. The staff are really nice and very accommodating. The hotel definitely is quiet at night--so no sleep interruptions.

Room Tip: It can be a really long walk from the elevator to your room. If you don't want to walk too far...

Just finished a four day training at the Marriott Princeton, 100 College Road East, NJ last week. Very spacious property, friendly and responsive staff, fast internet, excellent training facilities & business center, good food, well appointed rooms, a hearty breakfast, comfortable bed, well equipped gym and a hot, hot shower. They also have some deft touches like a free shuttle to the city shopping areas with pick up and drop, complimentary newspapers at reception, complimentary internet terminal to print out boarding passes and an automated wakeup call system. I had an issue with the initial credit card deposit which the reception staff handled and cleared professionally and efficiently. All in all great value for money with a series of very positive customer touch points. Highly recommended !
