When we walked out of Epes, we marked the spot as one to return to.
The lentil soup was subtle and flavorful, with a good balance between chunkiness and smoothness. In the shepherd's salad with lamb, the lamb chunks were cooked perfectly: tender and juicy, and slightly crisp on the outside without being charred. The hummus appetizer was not salty.
They offer several tasty-looking desserts. We opted to take home some baklavah, and contended over it.
When we were almost done, a lady sat down at the table next to us and waited with calm expectation. Soon, a gentleman showed up with a tall bottle of wine.
