If you live in the area you should definitely visit Metro North! Easily accessible with a big parking lot. I have been there at least 10 times, and the drinks, appetizers and main courses are always excellent. Great cocktails and very good wine!

This dimly lit restaurant has an expansive menu of Italian food. They do all of the classics well and always have a tantalizing (and rather large) menu of specials. We vary our menu choices from here, going from things like the meatballs as a starter and a sausage bolonese as a main, to wonderful chicken dishes, and full on steaks. Desserts are overall tasty, though we'd pass on the cheesecakes, which are often more cakey and less flavorful than one would expect. I'd also avoid the limoncello, as the last time we'd had it, it seemed like it was freezer burned. I suspect they don't sell enough. The wine menu is okay - stocked with big box brands, all of high quality.

While the food is generally excellent, I will take off one star for the service. It is sufficient, but not attentive. While dining one night our server failed to come back to the table to see if we wanted refills on our drinks, never asked us how our meals tasted, or if we needed anything in addition to the food on the tables. The restaurant lost our add-on business for sure. This type of service seems to be true a lot of the time.

That said, we enjoy the food and will keep on coming. We hope that they will tighten up on service; it will increase our business.

Our family was returning from NY to Princeton Junction on the NJ rail system, and there were problems with the tracks, so we arrived two hours late for our dinner reservation. When we told the host about our transportation fiasco, they made us a special hot chocolate drink and served us like kings and queens all night. We were hungry, and the warm food was good, especially the BangBang shrimp. We absolutely appreciated the pampered service and the our spirits improved for the rest of the evening.

Using Tripadvisor's recommendations, we made a reservation for a group of 7 for dinner. We were picking up family from the Princeton Junction Train Station and wanted a nice restaurant close by. The meal was lovely and the waitress was fine, although a little frazzled. She must have had a couple of bills mix with a couple of charge cards because she used our charge card to bill a lesser amount-a difference of of over $100. We were honest and told her we were charged a lesser amount for a different table's bill. She apologized and said that would have made her night even worse. She ran our bill through with our charge card and said it was fixed. I checked later that week and after 4 days we were still charged 2 bills, totaling over $576. I contacted the restaurant and the manager said only the owner could help. I called back later that Saturday night and the owner was annoyed at being interrupted at a busy time and said "File a dispute." I told him that process was currently not working on my charge website and he said he would fix it later. He said call back Monday. I called Monday and the manager said the owner doesn't come in on Mondays. I called Tuesday and after a little bit of a run-around, the owner said "Oh, yes. We found it and were hoping you'd call, but I didn't have your phone number." Well, after 3 more days, the difference was not credited and when I called my charge card, they said nothing was ever done. They said they would file the dispute now for me because of all I had already tried. What a shame! Was planning to make this a "regular" meeting place for our family taking the train in from New York to Princeton. Now? Too expensive when I have to pay other tables and get treated rudely for being honest and doing the "right thing".

We had a small dinner event at Metro North Bar & Grill just before the holidays. When we arrived the restaurant their large parking lots were almost full. Most of the patrons were in the bar area. It looks like the Happy Hour is a hit. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived at 6pm but filled up during the evening. Service was excellent. Overall a good place to visit on your next visit to the Princeton area.
