Had the mini serving but it was more than enough! It's a BYOB kind of place. The salads are a good size, taste fresh. The sirloin is really thick. Friends that had visited before recommended the Parrillada mixta. When they order it they ask for substitutions. When I return I would like to try the baked empanadas.
The chimichurri sauce is delicious!

This restaurant in Moonachie is quite new. It is small. The tables are very close together. The parking lot is equally tight. Some of the food was excellent , other not so much.
My "Tortilla de Papas" ( a kind of frittata with eggs and potato) : Excellent.
My "Cannelones de carne y espinaca" (crepes with spinach and meat) : not so good.
They were extremely salty. Too much ground meat and very little spinach. I left most of it.
My husband's sausage was good .
His steak was basically good but again extremely salty, as they were his mashed potatoes.
The dessert, : flan (custard) was excellent, obviously homemade, delicious.
THe service was OK, nothing spectacular. They are not extremely attentive. We feel that they are overwhelmed when it is too busy. They have live tango music (1 piano, 1 bandoneón) on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm. That was very good.

If you like a relaxed and quiet dinner , look somewhere else. The place is extremely noisy. At our tiny table we couldn't hear each other. We were there last Thursday, May 18. We will give it 1 more try , maybe another day of the week.

This is a simple modest size place in an old home. A positive sign: most of the customers appear to be Spanish speaking. The feature dish is gaucho style grilled meats. The parrillada for two at $45 is a bargain. You get a huge platter of good quality but not top quality beef, pork and chicken. Skirt steak, short ribs, pork cutlets and chicken breasts plus chorizo, blood sausage, sweat breads and even fatty tripe that we passed on. We filled ourselves and had enough to take home for lunch. We had mashed potatoes and a salad side that were below average. But dessert pancakes were good. El Tango is BYOB.
They have a duet playing tango music between 6:20 and 8pm Thursdays that we enjoyed. The room, however, is too small for dancing.

Two young men, from my local neighborhood have opened up this restaurant and needless to say " the boys done good". From Argentinian pies, to meats on the grill, there is delightful and hearty dishes to satisfy any red blooded meat lover. Thursday' nights have live Tango music and it helps to create a warm welcoming feeling for all. BYOB and loosing your belt!
