Breakfast at Mae De's hasn't changed much over the past 40 years. Always featured on the menu are good, hearty American breakfasts at very reasonable prices.
Eggs any way, omelets, bacon/ham/sausages or scrapple with potatoes and toast, muffin or bagel. Fresh brewed coffee, pancakes, etc., nothing too fancy, but always good and fresh.
Locals fill the counter seats -- some have their own mugs -- to start their day discussing latest town happenings with friends and neighbors. The coffee cup is bottomless, and if you're extra hungry, a short stack is always available to add to your order.
It may not be the place for everyone's taste. The ambience is more "Mayberry" than rustic or trendy, but if your interested in stepping into a retro time tunnel, and experience a timeless period of Americana, Ma-De-Chat Shop is for you.
