We often meet our best friends of 35 years that live in Princeton mid way in Lambertville for drinks & dinner and love Brian's. A drink at Lambertville Station starts the evening then a two block walk to Brian's where we were thrilled to find a changed menu with some delightful new selections as well as new decor. The dining room has been softened and opened up with a view into the kitchen and lovely music in the background. Appetizers included Robiola ravioli w/ mushrooms, Purée of cauliflower soup w/ truffle oil, and for me Lemon & Crab Risotto that was very tasty. Our main courses were Scottish salmon w/ savory cabbage & bacon butter sauce, Beef short ribs Stroganoff w/ roasted potatoes, and for me Peking Duck w/ cabbage, whipped yams & apple cider sauce that was delicious but not as authentic as in Hong Kong or Beijing. Desserts are familiar standbys White Chocolate Bread Pudding w/ Amaretto sauce, Roasted Pineapple in Vanilla Bean Butter w/ Coconut ice cream, and Chocolate Pot de Creme w/ whipped cream, and espresso or cappuccino to finish a wonderful dining experience. Brian's Three courses for $45 and BYOB plus $2 in a parking meter is too good to be true after dining in Philly for $155 pp plus $100 bottle of wine and $25 parking at a top fixed price restaurant. Both should be experienced but for another Wednesday dinner with great friends we feel so fortunate to live 30 minutes from Brian's Place!
