I visited a few days ago with a bunch of work colleagues, we all ordered different starters and mains and everybody thoroughly enjoyed their food.. reasonably priced and well worth a visit.

We had the live scallop served on ice - simple, fresh, and delicious.

Afterwards was the bluefin tuna belly. We weren't expecting to find that on the menu! Served with a dash of dashi, a thinly sliced scallion, and a fresh grating of wasabi. Best sashimi fish, and the best cut of that fish to boot. Very generous serving size! Over twelve slices.

We finished up with a monkfish pâté. Very delicate, gentle flavor. Served over slices of cucumber in a light ponzu sauce with caviar and scallions as a garnish.

Everything was perfect. We had items we were unlikely to find outside of Japan, freshly and passionately prepared, and spent less than $100. We couldn't ask for anything more.

Well, yes we could. Our waiter, Babba, was incredibly knowledgeable. His expertise was unparalleled. He seemed to really enjoy his job, and we were happy to try his recommendations. If you have him as your waiter, you're in for a treat for sure!

Ordered a selection of sashimi. The seafood is fresh but the cut is mediocre. Only salmon tastes well. I guess for the price you should find somewhere else

I love Japanese food, particularly sashimi and sushi. Aside from a truly excellent and well-priced saki, the sashimi was very fresh and beautifully presented. My dining partner and I spoke with the owner or manager who was friendly and knowledgeable about the special selections. I will definitely visit again.

This is a good Japanese restaurant overall, but what elevates it to a great restaurant are the specials. Fish and seafood are brought in from Japan and various places in the the US and Canada. I don't know how they can keep it so fresh. Here you will find many items such as flying fish that you won't get elsewhere. The rock shrimp and sea urchins are particularly delicious. Explore the saki and whisky selections, too. I can't even imagine how expensive all this would be in Manhattan.
