Hopewell Theater is designed for community and to encourage community. I love that the interior seating, in addition to some stadium seating, features tables of four and more so we can meet with friends or meet new friends. The schedule of movies and entertainment is unique and provides cultural stimulation that is so important to our area. We'll continue to support and reap the benefits.
Hi Adrienne, we're happy to hear you enjoyed our seating and programming. We agree that community and cultural stimulation are important for the nourishment of people's minds and hearts, and are honored that you want to support us. We hope to see you soon!
I only found out about this place while searching for a band we like to hear, the Slambovians. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were playing so close to home at this theater that I had never heard of. We called and bought tickets sitting in Right Booth 5 and the seats were great. We were a group of 4 so we were not sitting with strangers. The booth was like sitting on a couch with a small table in front of you for your food or drink. If you are a party of two you will be sitting with 2 people your don't know if the seats are sold. This may bother some people? I like this place and I will return when they have another event that interests me. The size of the theater is not that big so most seats should be fine. If your at a table you will need to turn your chair so your facing the stage. Not sure about he balcony. We did not eat that night so we can not comment on the food. It was a cold night and they did not have hot chocolate. It will be a great convenience when the local restaurant opens. We parked on the Main Street and walked 3 minutes to the front door-no problem
Hi Diane, thank you for reviewing us! We're happy to hear you found us through the Slambovians. We appreciate the feedback about the lack of hot chocolate, and will keep this in mind for the future. We are also excited about the convenience and unique opportunities the restaurant will provide in the future, and hope to see you again!
Most musical events in the Princeton area are very middlebrow. This show was a real original. Muldoon is the best poet of our generation and Rogue Oliphant's music meshed with it beautifully.
Hi LewMaltby, it is our goal to bring unique, one-of-a-kind shows to the area, so we're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the show and our similar taste in music. Thank you for this review!
Great variety of programing. We've been to movies with that family and to musicians, just the two of us. Intimate environment. Wonderful staff. If you need something to do without leaving the area, look them up. You won't regret it.
Hi Davey, thanks for the great review! We strive to be an intimate, inviting space, so we're happy to hear you enjoy it as a family and a couple. Looking forward to your next visit!
The venue was a real treat. Super clean. Super intimate. Whole staff is super friendly and is basically an over sized coffee house with luxury seating and over stuffed leather lounging in all areas. No bad seat in the house! Entire venue maybe holds 200 people or less. Not obscured or impeded views. Sounds quality is excellent for a small venue. Even the best part is that they have a pop corn making machine which makes everything smell great and the concert hall is BYOB! Very affordable and a great place to check out a show. Don’t know what other kind of events they hold. Liquor store on the block as well as a fun bar in walking distance. I’d def recommend an excuse to have an evening out there!
Hi renzocrain, thanks for the stellar review! We're happy to hear your kind words about our staff, seating, concessions, and other features. We hope you'll visit us again!
My wife and I regularly attend the wide variety of fine programming available at this venue. This is a recently renovated multi-use theater with alternative movies, live music, and dramatic and comedy performances. It has great sound, lighting, and projection with comfortable seating.and friendly, helpful staff. Some of our recent experiences include great concerts by Sonny Landreth and Cindy Cashdollar, Stuart Duncan and Noam Pikelny, and Sierra Hull, Remembrance Day a fine one woman show about a character who worked with the Bletchley code breakers, and The Report a new movie with Adam Driver and Annette Bening about the struggle to produce the “torture report” last decade.
Hi Alan, we're glad you visit so regularly, and that you have such kind words for our sound, lighting, seating, staff, and programming. We hope you continue to enjoy your experiences here. Thank you for the review!
