I am here on a business trip staying at Crowns Plaza. Co-worker from the area wanted to give us a "Peruvian Experience". Started with Chicha (traditional Peruvian purple corn drink) I'm not really able to describe but it was very refreshing not overly sweet. Appetizer- Papa o Yuca a la Huancaina (boiled potato wedges topped with huancaina queso fresco yellow pepper sauce (again very tasty! not too spicy but had great flavor came with a side of yellow mayo sauce and a green spicy sauce. She mixed hers and i also used some of both sauces with my chicken later in the meal. There was some sort of baked corn kernels in a cup on the table (I cant remember what they were called but Kathy said some people like others say they don't...I did like them and would say they remind me of eating cornnuts but more natural and cleansed the palate in between courses)For our main entree we shared a whole Peruvian rotisserie style chicken (so moist and flavorful! I am not usually a big fan of rotisserie chicken but this was fantastic!) The chicken came with papitas fritas (french fries) and salad. We also shared an order of Arroz Chaufa (peruvian/chinese style fried rice scrambled egg mixed veggies, with chicken) There were three of us and between the sides and the whole chicken it could have easily fed a family of 5. We rounded out the meal with 2 pieces of tiramisu. For all of this food and 3 bottles of water out total was $50. In Jersey this was a steal for the high quality food and excellent service! I can't wait to come back later in the week to try other things on their menu!
