Gorgeous B&B, we stayed in room 23, the Cuppula room which is in the newer section, but you have access to the porch off your room. Nice size bath with oversized shower and pretty window. Look out and see the horse and carriages go by. Just gorgeous. Stunning grounds. Breakfast gives you a choice from a menu of many options cooked to order. A little further from the beach by a block or two but closer to Washington Mall and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Lots of areas to relax and read or enjoy the rocking chairs on the grand porch. They offer beach chairs and towels. As a frequent B&B goer to CM, I did miss no afternoon tea, but was told not enough people came back for it so they discontinued. I think in the summer many people don't come back for Tea but in the fall and winter months they may want to bring it back. Attention to detail is a big plus here from luxury sheets, turn down service, stunning landscaping and florals. 5 star all the way

My wife and I had our wedding here and stayed for two nights with our wedding party. The rooms are gorgeous and the staff is amazing! Ken and Denise excelled at helping us setup and were exceptionally courteous. I can’t say enough good things about the two of them. If you’re going to be in town and want to stay at a great historic landmark with huge luxurious rooms, this is the place to stay. If you want a wedding you and your family will remember forever, call Ken and setup a meeting.

A beautiful place that I would call a boutique hotel with B&B features. In any event, the grounds are beautiful (it sits on a huge lot in a residential neighborhood a couple of blocks walk from the shopping district), and even the parking lot has been beautifully designed with brick pavers, Belgian block curbs and lots of beautiful plantings. the Mansion itself is absolutely beautiful, having been restored to its original glory with a matching huge addition. it is furnished with antiques and reproductions and has plenty of sitting space for guests in the public rooms. Our room was on the first floor in the newer (1990s) wing, although the construction and detailing is so good it would be easy to believe that the wing is original to the house. The king size bed was so big that my wife used the steps provided to climb into it. It had to be the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in in any hotel or B&B. The air conditioner in the ceiling above the bathroom was a bit noisy but not more so than any hotel, but we can't complain because we both got more sleep there than even at home. The included breakfast was excellent and was on the enclosed wraparound porch, with a table full of fruit, yogurt, quality baked goods, and cereal, and to the side a table with the coffees and an assortment of teas. We were also given a menu to order from, such as eggs any style. Probably one of the best breakfasts we've experienced. And the people at the front desk, both day and evening shifts, were friendly and accommodating, with realistic discussion of shops and restaurants. We are already planning our next visit to the Southern Mansion.

Room Tip: Probably all rooms are good.

Ken at the front desk was great to us! Our king superior room was huge, luxurious, spotless and beautifully decorated for the time period. It is a one of a kind experience to stay at the Southern Mansion, it's history is quite amazing.

The breakfast was good but just ordinary, we expected gourmet. Despite that, we would stay here again.

I cannot say enough about how WONDERFUL the staff at Southern Mansion are. My daughter's wedding was held here, and they do a FABULOUS job! Kira, the event coordinator, was amazing. She was a lovely person, so easy to work with. Nothing was too much trouble. Ken, Denise, and Heather were other staff I came across, they were pleasant, funny, helpful, just a delight to deal with. The mansion is gorgeous, the rest of the staff, from servers, housekeeping, grounds crew, and the like made our stay and the wedding a lovely experience. I recommend the Southern Mansion for any event!
