My fiancee surprised me with a mid-week getaway to the White Mountains of NH for Valentine's Day, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first. We arrived the day before the holiday and found the staff to be in good spirits from the moment we entered the resort. Everything was clean and everyone was friendly--our room couldn't have been cuter.
Front desk staff was very knowledgeable at check-in/check out.
Our Valentine's Day was great! The region got, what I am told, was the largest snow storm of the season, and what a great place to get snowed in. It didn't seem like there was a storm at all. We acted like kids again, making snowmen, going snowtubing (something I'd never done) and rented snowshoes from the activity center. A beautiful day. Dinner at the propertie's fine-dining restaurant was pretty good, very elegant despite somewhat slow service--though it almost added to the trip's snowy mystique.
Because of the weather we booked an extra night, and I couldn't be happier that we did, I was able to get a massage at the spa to cap off the trip.
My only regret--not knowing about the Mountain View when I booked my wedding!
