I was born in Maine and split my time growing up in Kittery Point and New Hampshire- now I live in the suburbs of Philly (anyone want a cheesesteak recommendation??). Genos is wonderful. The ingredients are fresh and the food is exactly as advertised and exactly what I hoped for and expected during my visit over Easter weekend. The staff are honest, authentic and friendly. At 11AM on Friday half the customers were drinking Smuttynose- judgement free zone.
To be honest I’m a thick chowder guy, but the fact that they post “our chowders are brothy and thin but full of seafood” right on their website made respect their choice to specialize in this type of recipe. I had the clam chowder and 3oz lobster roll which was served with a bag of chips. Lucky for me it they were running a special that day; with an iced tea I was around $22 all in + tip. Clams in the chowder, lobster, the roll, the lettuce, everything was fresh, prepared perfectly and very enjoyable. Kudos!!
