Myself and 3 friends went up to Pittsburg, NH to enjoy a late season snowmobile ride. We chose Lopstick Lodge, as one buddy had already stayed there before. Our cabin was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We didn't spend a lot of time there, as we were out on the great trail system the Pittsburg Ridge Runners maintain. We were able to put on 600 miles in a few days. We rode to Maine, and had a great experience there too. Canada is about a 25 minute snowmobile ride, and there is a snowmobile border crossing, so you can access the Canadian trails too.

While we were out riding everyday, our cabin was cleaned, the beds were made and all used linens were replaced. I can't say enough about the hospitality at Lopstick. We are 100% returning there next year, and for many years to come.

Think Snow!!!

We had planned this weekend as a very special family weekend to "honour" our oldest son who will soon leave the house to pursue his studies. The day of snowmobile should be a great experience. And he really enjoyed it, despite his accident, which was fortunately free of injury. Thank God!

Our stay in a Lopstick cabin (Dear Meadow) was great. Very nice house, well equipped, and beautifully located right next to a pond and creek. The reality was even nicer than the pictures on the web!

The service was excellent. All gear very well maintained. Team was friendly.

The most important of our experience with Lopstick and specifically with the owner (Aaron) was how he dealt with my son's accident with the sled. Despite the hastle that this implies for the company, he was most interested in my son being well, and he took the accident and damage to the sled professionally. We had to pay quite a bit of money for repair, but we were certain from the very start that Lopstick would not take advantage of the situation and potentially overcharge us. It was all fair and plausible, and allowed us to keep the weekend in unconditionally great memories.

We'll return again, definitely. Btw, this area is fantastic for snowmobile!

Drive carefully ! Snowmobiles are not to be underestimated. Even though my son was aware of risk, he learned the lesson that things can quickly get out of hand - unexpectedly! ... which is what he knew already from talk of various people, including his Dad ;-).

Respect speed, respect the dangers, and be aware that one NEVER has everything under full control. Appropriate speed is therefore THE life insurance!

Again, team of Lopstick, thanks for all!

It was wonderful to have hosted you and your family this winter. You all were very pleasant to work with. We are so sorry about the accident and are happy your son didn't get hurt. Things can be replaced or repaired.

We all appreciate you taking the time to write a review about your stay. Deer meadow seems to have been a great choice for you. The area is so nice with Perry stream right by the cabin.

We hope you come back and maybe try another season.
Thank you again for the great review.

We made reservations at Lopstick several months in advance and planned to rent a snowmobile for our first adventure of this kind. Unfortunately, the weather conditions didn't cooperate and we decided against renting the snowmobile due to very icy trail conditions. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating through the whole process. We stayed in Magalloway 6 which was very convenient and has an amazing view. Lights and heat were on when we arrived which made it very comfortable. The cabin was spotlessly clean throughout. We highly recommend choosing Lopstick over any of the many other choices in and around Pittsburg.

This is so nice of you to do such a great review. We all really appreciate it.

The Hillside cabin is a great cabin I agree. It's perfect for a family to enjoy a cozy vacation. I shared this post on our Facebook and on the Pittsburg Ridge Runners too. They do work hard and deserve to see any good comments.

Thank you again for a great review it means a lot.

First Trip to Pittsburg and Lopstick:
We went there to snowmobile mid-week with 2 grandsons. We rented Tranquility cabin. The First Connecticut Lake can be seen from the two decks over the roof of a lower cabin. Our cabin was incredibly clean, well appointed, with many woodsy touches, it looked recently remodeled. There were two sliders onto separate decks, both facing the lake. The dining-living room area was spacious, and the kitchen had plenty of cabinet and counter space. The bedrooms were small, but the beds were very comfortable. The WiFi was good, the TV was sizable, and the heating worked well with thermostats in every room. There is a mudroom for boots and gear which keeps the clutter out of the cabin.

About the staff: Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We had a water pressure problem when we first arrived, and someone came in less than 10 minutes and the problem was resolved quickly with a filter replacement.

Snowmobile Rental: We had 2 snowmobiles, but needed to rent a third. The sled was on site, new, ran well, and we were given two very good helmets with the rental. One thing to note is that if you bring the sled back without filling up, there is a $10 per gallon charge. There is a 24 hour gas station accessible from the trail within 3-4 miles of Lopstick where you can fill up on the way back from your ride and the needle stays on full for that short ride.
Location: The location was excellent with access to the lake and trails in all directions. The weather was not the best the week we were there, but we had an excellent time, and there were more trails than we could have imagined. Plus Lopstick is close to the Happy Corner Cafe which has good food, reasonably priced, is family friendly, and accessible from the trail. Just a heads up, we did not see a grocery stores within miles of Lopstick, but had brought our own food so it was not an issue.

Lopstick was all good and we would definitely stay there again.

This is a wonderful review!

Thank you very much for the kind words about the staff at Lopstick. We do try to make our guests experiences memorable. It sounds like you have a wonderful time with your grandchildren.

The Tranquility cabin has indeed been remodeled this year and everything in that cabin is brand new. It's a cozy cabin and comfortable for a small family.

Thank you for the friendly reminder about the gas for the snowmobiles. We rarely charge anyone the $10.00 a gallon charge as most all people fill the tank before returning.

Thank you again for doing a review.
