I stayed here with my husband the week before New Year's Eve. The food is delicious, the atmosphere by the grand fireplace can't be beat and the value for meals combined with a room is truly incredible. Despite all this, there are few ways this charming inn falls short. The ambiance is the dining room is confused at best. It is obviously an addition, but they chosse to cover the walls with cedar shakes instead of attempting to mimic the georgeous architecture of the rest of the manor. This takes away from the charm of dressing formally for dinner as the inn suggests. The rooms themselves are lovely, but the green carpet that runs throughout the inn is not very aesthetically pleasing. I loved having the fireplace in the room and the overall cozy feel of the manor. My husband and I will definitely stay here again, but little things like lack of communication of how seating at breakfast is arranged, the small size of the bathrooms in relation to the size of the guestrooms, and some of the tired decor are what make Stonehurst almost amazing.

Room Tip: Make sure to check if your bathroom is across the hall or in your guestroom. At least one of the ba...

Thank you for your recent review of our stay this past Christmas Holiday. The Stonehurst Manor has much history and over the many years has certainly a story to tell. The Manor was originally built as the summer estate of carpet baron Erastus Bigelow, founder of Bigelow Carpets – at one time, the largest carpet manufacturing company in the world. We do honor his memory and home with carpets throughout the Manor. Another historical monument that we have kept original as Mr. Bigelow constructed is the patio dining room with cedar shakes and working well is original to the building was constructed in 1876. Our current owner who purchased the Manor over 35 years ago, was presented with the first ever award given by the Conway Historical Society for maintain and preserving in the original character.

We just returned from our fourth trip to Stonehurst Manor and once again it was a wonderful(but too short) trip. We spent the night in beautiful room 23, which was spacious with a beautiful fireplace. and considering the weather was cold and blustery, the fireplace came in handy!!
Dinner was excellant...I suggest the seafood fettucine..the the lounge was a great place for a before diner drink with the flatbread appetizer..and breakfast the next morning was leisurely with blueberry pancakes and the frittata of the day!! The staff as always was friendly and attentive!!!
We cannot wait to return in July!!!

My husband and I took a few days off to get "reacquainted" upon his return from Afghanistan. My sister highly recommended The Stonehurst Manor in North Conway, as she has stayed there several times before. We were NOT disappointed. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating; the Manor was gorgeous (inside and out), and the room was spotless. Delicious dinner and breakfast were included in our nightly price. Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the suites, which was gorgeous. I like the fact that you can also stay in one o...

I don't know where to start - your first thought is "this price is too good to be true - there has to be a flaw". Well, if there is we didn't find it. Our room was wonderful, spacious and immaculate with private screened in porch overlooking the mountains. We had stayed the night before at an inn that cost twice as much but this was equally as wonderful. The dinner was amazing as was the breakfast. We had great waiters both nights but the fellow who recommended the New Zealand white wine Whitehaven and the seafood fettucine was spot on-we sat on the upper level April 8th-sorry that we did not get your name but you know who you are. We always love it when we get honest answers to " what do you like on the menu".
You come away feeling very personal about this inn - like being at a rich aunts home, part of the family. Loved that there wasn't a typical "reception area" - instead your first view as you walk in the door is the huge fireplace.
I just can't say enough about this place - we've already recommended it to all our friends and we will definitely be back
