I stayed here for around a week (awful memory) in April 2012. The hotel is old fashioned but if you can look past this then it's full of charm and character. Food was amazing with great variety and staff always wanted to help! If you want a cosy getaway, this is the place. Can imagine it's amazing at Christmas!

We stayed here for three nights and we were very impressed with the hotel. The rooms are not modern but they are very well kept. We really liked the heritage character of the facilities, but I could see that some may not enjoy that character as much as we did.

The staff at the hotel was excellent and really went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review, our rooms are spacious and clean in which we take great pride. The Eagle Mountain House is registered with the Historic Hotels! I think we could agree it so beautiful and full of New England charm. There is just no beating the views and sitting on the large Veranda in one of our rockers enjoying the peacefulness of Jackson. Hope to see you back soon!

We initially came to play golf for my husband's birthday. We were accompanied by our daughter & future son-in-law. The ProShop manager Phil was very friendly and got us off to a great start for the day. The 9 hole race course was fun and the scenery was beautiful. Very quite and peaceful. The course had some nice par 3 holes and a few challenging par 4 and 5 holes. The course was fun and not too daunting for a beginner.

After play the 9day holes we then had lunch on the veranda. It was beautiful. The lunch menu was reasonably priced. The food was amazing!!!!!! I had an amazing gespacho and roast beef and boursin sandwhich, very tasty and well presented. My daughter's flatbread pizza was delicious, as was the ruben that my husband and future son-in-law had. The best part of the experience was the wait staff. They were all very friendly and attentive to our needs. We felt very welcomed. We had enjoyed playing the first 9 holes so much so that we played another 9 holes.

All in all we had a marvelous time. We will definitely be back and will bring other friends and family with us!! We want to thank the staff for such a pleasant experience and for making my hisband's birthday so memorable!!!

Just had a terrific dinner on the porch. Pam took excellent care of us. Wine list is in transition, but she was able to find a wine to our liking. Great experience, we will be back.

Dear Localette,

The staff and I appreciate you taking the time to comment on your recent dinner on the Veranda. The entire dining experience has been well received with panoramic views of the White Mountains while relaxing on the Veranda. Everyone knows in New England that dining outside is a special event that is short lived and something special.

I am glad you enjoyed your dinner, we look forward to your return.

Regards,

The hotel lobby, restaurant, bar and particularly the veranda were beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, it did feel a little like a golf club with a hotel attached, with golfers making up the bulk of the users. What definately lets the hotel down is the standard of the room. This is mentioned briefly in one review some time ago and does not appear to feature elsewhere, including the hotel's site. The room we were given, and I suspect from the layout of the hotel, a large percentage of the other rooms, was small, dingy and had metal spinkler pipes running across the ceiling. The corridor had a definate 'prison-cell block' feel to it. We stayed in eight hotels in New England during our trip and sadly feel that this was the worst room we stayed in.

Room Tip: Check location and the type of room before booking.

Dear Broad-K,

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay. I see that you enjoyed the friendly staff, scenic veranda and our comforatable dining options. I am sorry that you found the appearance of the pipes in your room and in the hallways not to your liking. As a historic hotel the sprinkler system was added after the hotel was expanded in 1929. This "automatic" sprinkler system was the first to be installed in a New Hampshire Hotel. A planned future renovation may address this cosmetic issue.

We hope you may someday return to stay.

Regards,

Craig Boyer
