“Stop for lunch at the Tavern at Eagle Mtn. House while x-country skiing in Jackson, NH”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2012

The beautiful, historic, Eagle Mountain House Hotel sits on a hill, just across the road from several of Jackson Ski Touring Foundation's x-country ski trails. It's a great place to stop and relax mid day for some lunch or afternoon appetizers at their tavern. Their food is home made and the clam chowder is one of the best I've ever tasted! Other menu items were very good as well. When finished you can easily go back to the trails or sit by the fire in the hotel lobby for a short time.

“Delectible food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2012

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and we were so pleased. The bartender Pam waited on us and served wonderful drinks,. We wanted to relax and that's just what we did. Husband had a seafood dish with shrimp, scallops, lobster and mussels in a cream sauce, incredibly good, I had a fish reuben which was also good. Pam is a greatperson to chat with during dinner, this tavern is now on our to go list.

“Excellent Thanksgiving Buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2011

Buffets sometimes concern me but I have to say I was expecting good things here as we had previously attended the Sunday brunch here 3 years ago. The Thanksgiving buffet did not disappoint. Everything listed on the menu on line was available, being continuously replaced to ensure the food was at the proper temperature. There was a turkey and roast carving station among many choices of fresh fish, side dishes as well as a variety of cheeses, breads and salads. It was hard to leave room for dessert! We were only one of two parties of two with most tables being 6 to 12 people. This is a tradition I believe we will be back to enjoy for years to come.
