“Conveniently situated, middle of the road place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2011

Its basically a town centre motel, a little tired nowadays and not exactly overflowing with effervescent human contact, but I've stayed in worse.. Unusually, no coffee in the rooms though they do put a pot in the reception in the mornings.

Staying out of season we rembered to time our stay for the weekend so the town's better restaurants are open - most take at least a two day break this time of year . So I've never tried the in-house restaurant here though it must be said that it didn't look particularly inviting.

Stay again? Sure if we visit Gorham again. In all probability its the best available in the locality.

My husband and i visited the gorham area and upon arrival to town we went around to most of the area hotels to find a clean affordable room. Not only were we shocked at the rooms we looked at but we were amazed at the prices, these rooms were very old and very dirty!upon arriving at the royalty inn we assumed the prices would be high as it was such a nice looking place. To our delight we were given a great room for a good price it was very clean!! our only regret was that they didnt have a room for both nights we were in town.THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF!!We would definatly stay again!

We stayed here this past weekend at the high rate of $200.00. What a waste of money. The room was small and definitely 1970s. The walls are paper thin. The bed was most uncomfortable. The worst was the restaurant - Thanksgiving. It was terrible. The atmosphere is cold, the service poor and the food awful. On this weekend we travelled across the New England States and stayed in some lovely places for MUCH less money.

We stayed during Columbus day weekend and planned on hiking in the area. We did not need anything very fancy, just did not want to stay in tents that night and really wanted a hot shower. There were limited vacancies in the area and so we took a room even though they charged $150. For that price we expected a nice room, good service, and something that would make the cost of one night for two people worth it. But everything about our stay was not. The girl working the front desk was cold and rude both when I called on the phone and again when we arrived. She lived in the area but would not recommend any place to eat aside from their own restaurant. The room itself was incredibly small, stank, and the walls were paper thin. We heard noises through our walls and outside our door all night. The sounds of cars driving around in the lot and people slamming doors was incredibly loud. Bedside lamp did not work. There was supposed to be complimentary coffee which never showed up in the lobby in the morning. Basically if we had paid for a dirt cheap quality place then it would have been fine but for $150 in rural NH it was not at all a fair price. It would have been more pleasant and enjoyable to simply stay in a tent. Do not stay here if you want comfort or a good nights rest, TOTAL RIP-OFF!

We just stayed at the Royalty Inn on August 26th and 27th.
I really don't have anything to wonderful to say about the place. Other than
it was clean. Nothing plush about it.
The outdoor pool is located smack dab right in the middle of the parking lot. Cars are parked along the fence. Not very pretty at all. No chairs to sit in, just a few lounges. The indoor pool is beautiful. BUT, it is so hot in that room with no ventilation at all. I couldn't stand it. So if your planning on sitting in there to watch the children forget it.
Our room was very outdated. We came back after being out all day to find our room opened. Apparently the maid didn't lock it. My sister and I had adjoining rooms so both rooms could have been accessed by anyone. I called the front desk to tell them about it. I didn't even get an apology.
I really need to stress if you go there and you get an outside room on the second floor it is very dangerous. Stairs and railings can't be of code. The stairs that lead upstairs are dangerous. The railing offers no protection at all, and it was only on one side of the stairs. We had a four year old with us , My husband carried her up and down these stairs. Simply to dangerous for a little one to use. I didn't like them myself. Then the fence at the top was certainly not up to code either. The slats in the railings were 6 inches apart or more. A child could stick their head right through them.
Sleep quality not good. You could hear doors opening all night long. Beds very uncomfortable.

I am very sorry you were not happy with your stay. I apologize we did not meet your expectations. I would like to respond to your concerns and appreciate your feedback. All of our stairs and railings do meet code. Concerning chairs around the outside pool, we did remove them in preparation for the hurricane. We did not want them blowing around and hitting anyone. The indoor pool temp is 84 because it needs to be 2 degrees warmer than the water in the pool. Leaving your room unlocked was a mistake by the chambermaid and not acceptable. I will speak to the person involve and make sure it does not happen again. Thank you for the 5 for cleanliness. We strive to have the cleanness rooms anywhere.
