“We love this hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

This is about the sixth year that we've spent a March weekend at Bretton Woods. We always choose the quaint Bretton Arms Inn rather than the main hotel for our stay. We love that it's a quiet oasis compared to the activity at the hotel. Since you can still take the shuttle up to the main hotel -- or better yet, walk off the delicious meals -- and use all of the facilities, it suits our family perfectly. (We are the kind of family that NEVER stays on Disney property when in Orlando.) The ski and stay with breakfast is an amazing deal. Breakfast at the Arms can cost $80 for four in no time, so keep that in mind if you are dining without the deal. I had a relaxing day at the spa while my husband and teenagers skied. Since I was alone, I stayed long after my massage and was treated like royalty. I even ordered lunch with wine and dined in my luxurious robe within the curtained confines of the Princess Lounge. Heaven! We did venture into Littleton one night for dinner and I highly recommend Bailiwicks. I can't say enough about the front desk staff at The Bretton Arms. They were all so nice and accommodating, but I felt like I met a new friend in Nancy! Even the Shuttle drivers were friendly, talkative and helpful. I saw some comments about the Arms showing it's age and they will be closed for renovation in April and May. I actually prefer the quaint and historical in decor, but new beds will be a welcome addition. There is so much to do here including dog sled rides, carriage rides, cross country and downhill skiing, swimming and skating. However, our favorite family thing to do is play a board game at one of the many tables in the main lobby. When can you do THAT with teens at home? All in all, it is a great place to reconnect and decompress. Love it!

Room Tip: If you need a rollaway cot, definitely ask for one of the bigger rooms on the top floor.

We stayed at the Bretton Woods Arms and had a beautiful experience. So much to do! The rooms are lovely with flat screen TV's and comfortable beds. Most of all the rooms were very spacious. We preferred the breakfast at the main hotel as we were traveling with 3 teenage boys and an 11 year old. Dinner was at Stickney's (delicious). We stayed 4 nights and an outstanding trip. A bit much on the shuttle but all and all terrific!

Room Tip: I think the rooms are nicer at the Arms but a bit inconvenient to all the activities at the main hot...

We just returned from three nights at the Bretton Arms. We were very pleased with the accommodations, location and staff.

We had booked the ski and stay package which included breakfast. When you consider the price of lift tickets..breakfast ..and other services… it is a great deal. I had priced similar packages at some Vt mountains, and you couldn’t beat the deal we found.

We stayed in a double room, it was comfortable and very spacious. It was like staying at friend’s guest room, rather than a hotel room. The closet was huge as was the bath. The first night of our stay was very windy, and the older windows rattled a bit with the wind. The only other less than perfect part of the room was that the mattresses were very very soft, and it can hard to adjust to if you are used to sleeping on a firm bed.

The breakfast down stairs was excellent, as was the buffet at the Hotel. You can choose where you would like breakfast each day. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. The front desk staff was also very helpful when I had questions. There was always someone around to help. They run shuttles to the ski area, the main hotel and at least one restaurant down the road. If you are traveling on a weekend, you should make dinner reservations.

The one draw back to Bretton Woods area is that there are limited dining options off site. You have dining at the resort, or you drive to Bethlehem (15 Minutes) or Littleton (20+minutes) .

We took advantage of the pools at the Hotel. The outdoor heated pool is not be missed. The locker and changing rooms..and ample towels were welcome when you venture up from the Inn.

We love skiing at Bretton Woods, and staying on site at the Arms only added to our great time.

Thank You.

Room Tip: I think the corner rooms might a bit bigger

We wanted to try something different for our ski vacation and decided to stay at this hotel. The Bretton Woods ski mountain was great! Transportation to and from the hotel was easy. The hotel (Bretton Arms) itself is in need of some renovations and they probably had the worst mattresses I have ever experienced! I realize that different people prefer different things, but regardless if you like hard or soft mattresses, their mattresses were horrible regardless. I tried sleeping in both beds in the room and both sagged significantly towards the center of the bed. The carpets were kind of "gross" too. I didn't realize that the Mt Washington Omni resort is pretty much the only dining option around. Food was a bit pricey and quite ordinary. Kids menus were limited. The main hotel (Mt Washington hotel) also appeared to need some TLC.
