We stayed in Reno for two nights before heading out to visit family in Carson City to relax. Originally, our plans were to stay at Atlantis but GSR won out with the ammenities and the great deal on the room. The room was found on booking.com which is a condo in Indys/Summit Tower at GSR. If your on Booking.com don't be fooled. It looks like a suite with a living room online, but it's a standard room. You may want to verify what your getting before you book. The nice part about the location is the Starbucks down the elevator to the left. The masculine decor in the room was brown and black, a little on the dark side for us. If we were to return we would book the suite for more room. The bathroom was modern and nice with granite countertops and a walk in shower. On the second night we had to call down because there wasn't any cold water in the shower and another time because our pay per view movie wouldn't turn on. The biggest complaint was about the toilet paper because it was like sand paper, never pleasant. We noticed there was tape down the corners of the nightstands and it looked terrible. The beds were on the soft side and comfortable. Not for those who prefer a firmer mattress. The pool at GSR is nothing fantastic, it's fine but dated and full of kids. The hotel is definitely geared towards young families, our teenager was not into most activities apart from the movie theater. Tickets were $3 for a movie ticket and $18 for bowling for two with shoes. The reason this is a three star review is because the room was run downbut it was clean. This hotel has been remodled at sometime from what I hear, but the pool and arcade are dated. A major drawback was not being able to charge to our room, most of the staff didn't know the codes to charge to the condo. I think we'll try another hotel or stay in Lake Tahoe if we come back. The activities are worth checking out. Our favorite outing was the car museum in town which had a great collection of cars.
