“Good independant Hotel”
Reviewed 19 September 2012

With all the new reno's, Tropicana was a pleasurable place to stay. The casino floor is bright and the gaming tables were not bad. It's small and intimate compared to the likes of MGM, but it's a great place to stay and end off your days. It's location is not bad on the strip. If you feel the itch to head out, MGM is right across the street.

Rooms were nice and clean and the beds comfortable. Unfortunately, the blinds need work. If you wanna sleep during the day, it's too bright in the room.

Restaurant choice is limited, but that can be solved with a short walk.

High limit gaming is alright, though the room is a little claustrophobic. Also, the location of the cashier cage needs work.

Overall, the rooms were good and the staff were excellent. I'd recommend this hotel to many for a great stay in Las Vegas.

Very nice, clean rooms with lots of amenities with very helpful, friendly staff. I had a great walk on the treadmill in the spa. The food was great. Even better, I won a $3,000 jackpot! I'd definitely stay there again!

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday staying at the Tropicana... We were upgraded as we got married here, the room was lovely ... A huge bed ... huge TV ... really clean and beautifully furnished and decorated ....I would definitely stay here again ( stayed at the MGM two years ago and this is a much better and quieter hotel )
The pool areas are beautiful and so clean with palm trees for shade. The staff are mostly friendly with one exception ( they need to look at the greeting staffs attitudes at the beach cafe... the waiters were lovely there though and the food is reasonably priced and very well cooked and presented with a great choice .... eat outside as it is a beautiful setting )
All in all this is a really lovely hotel and you wouldn't be dissapointed if you stayed here.

I booked this hotel along with my parents who booked seperately. Doug who checked us in could not have been more helpful. He ensured we were in rooms with an ajoining door which really helped our holiday.

I found the rooms to be really light, bright and with lots of space. I really could not have wanted for more. The issues with the bathrooms, and the lack of update, I did not find to be too much of a problem. They certainly do not detract from the overall appearance of the hotel.

The casino was smaller than most, but being unused to Las Vegas I found this to be a plus. I could play on the 'slots; while my parents were playing elsewhere and we could easily find each other afterwards.

Check in and out was both with Doug, who I must say, was a great front face for the hotel. He was very pleasant, enthusiastic and willing to help us to ensure we had the best stay possible.
The Beach Cafe was a great venue. Meals were great and the value was much better than elsewhere in Vegas. We found the pool to be everything we had read about. Spacious and with a great atmosphere. I also found the drink prices around the pool to be very comparable to elsewhere in Vegas.

Would hightly recommend the Tropicana.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Paradise Tower and found this to be great. However, the walk to the Club Tower is...

We spent ten nights at the Tropicana in September, this was our second visit to vegas previously staying at the MGM, but decided on this hotel after reading reviews on tripadvisor and were not disappointed. From the minute we walked in we loved everything about the place. It is a quieter hotel which suited us, and has everything we needed and more, the casino is bright and airy and not as intimidating as some of the larger hotels and the staff very friendly even helping me playing my first ever game of craps (on which i somehow managed to win $160, i still don't know how that happened). The pool area is a real bonus beautifully kept grounds with plenty of sunbeds, we only ate once in the hotel at the beach club and this was excellent quality. We had a suite in the club tower and although this looks over the airport the standard of the room more than made up for the view, spacious, clean, bright and an unbelievable comfortable bed. My only gripe is the resort fee for services i would not be using, but after emailing Nicole she quickly responded and agreed to waiver half of this, which is a nice personal touch.
We thought our first visit to vegas would never be beaten, but we were WRONG this trip was out of this world and The Tropicana contributed to this, we have only been back home a matter of days and are already planning a return visit and will not hesitate to stay at The Tropicana whenever we are in town!!

Room Tip: Paradise tower rooms have the views of the strip, but the high standard of the room we had did not d...
