“Great location”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

Beat location in Vegas... you can walk the whole strip from this florescent pink Vegas home base of operations. The rooms are a little worn but ok. The GO rooms are nicely appointed and remind you of a newer boutique hotel. I would not recommend the food choices here, although we do like the drinks and soup at Margaritaville. The best thing about the property is the expansive pool complex which has to be seen to believe. It is easily one of the best pools in Vegas. All in all, the Flamingo offers great location, great pool, ok rooms, and a good value. If pools or value are important to your trip, give the Flamingo a shot.
By the way... built in 1951, this place is loaded with history. Go down to the valet pickup area and you will see pics of the old Flamingo.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the Belaggio fountains... it never gets old.

We stayed in one of the old rooms on the lower floors and it was fine. As somewhere cheap and central to sleep it was perfect but if you want luxury and frills stay somewhere else.

Check in was super slow which after a long flight was not fun, however all the staff that we dealt with were helpful and friendly.

We ate in other hotels so can't comment on the food also didn't a chance to use the pool

Very nice stay. Everyone here is very friendly and nice. Room service arrived in 15 minutes, where I have waited up to 2 hours at the larger hotels. I am in a Deluxe Go Room that has a side view of the Bellagio fountains. Location is awesome. My bed is very comfortable and the wildlife around the pool area is beautiful. Lots of turtles, birds, waterfalls and flamingos. The price is so inexpensive, but I did do a small upgrade to Deluxe Go room (my bed is super comfortable)and it is very nice, including jets in the shower. Blackjack dealers are super friendly and the buffet is fast and easy, no wait. I have had a terrific time, this hotel is right across from Caesars and Bellagio, I went to the spas there, both very nice. I am pretty sure they could charge so much more money for this room. If you book a Deluxe Go room, you will not be disappointed. I spoke to someone who went to the new steakhouse that just opened here, and they said it was delicious. I walked around the pool area, it was very cool. Thanks Flamingo!

Room Tip: I am on 19th floor, GO deluxe room.

we stayed at the flamingo from 19th april for 1 week and loved every minute, The rooms were spotless and very modern, the casino was great but not too big and the pool area was just amazing, even the drinks poolside were pretty reasonable with some great offers like 12 coors light for $48. we travelled in a group of 20, a lot of whom have been to vegas before and all of them preferred the flamingo to their previous hotel the Luxor. the flamingo has an excellent location opposite ceasars and just a few minutes walk from the bellagio fountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend to others, we would definately go back.

Choosing bthe Flamingo was a bit bof a gamble given some reviews. Whilst true that the building is old, allowances must be made for the excellent position on the strip, close to everything. Check the net for specials and room inclusions, plus sign up for the special card that links all the Hotels in this group - you can charge restaurants back to your room as well as purchases in a variety of shops. The Go rooms are something else in decor, a talking point. Rooms are a good size with everything you may want, except for free internet. Try the Apple stores if you wish to have free Wi-Fi or just use their computers (staff are extremely helpful)
Summary: I would have no problem booking in at the Flamingo in Vegas for future trips.
Note: Expect that the casino areas will have cigarette smoke, but not as bad as I had expected given my very strong allergy.

Room Tip: Higher non smoking floors are better, upgrade to a Go room - tacky decor but a bit of fun!
