“not clean”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2012

there are no true non-smoking rooms in this hotel, as the ventilation system circulates unfiltered air from the casino. Thus the whole place smells of stale tobacco and is worn and dirty.

Rio needs to renovate their suites. They look 20 years old. As for the casino is average, aging. Penn & Teller show is right there and funny. Need a car or taxi to do everything.

These rooms are large, clean and adequately furnished. The only drawbacks are the old TVs and the fact that there is no free internet access. Rooms are quiet and beds are very comfortable. This is my second stay at the Rio and I will return.

First time staying at the Rio usually stay on the strip, but this time we get a connecting two room two beds for what we would have for half a room on the strip. The hotel is like 30 years old but you can not tell when you get into the room. I enjoyed all the space they give a guest. the down side is no cell phone reception in the rooms so you better like going down to the casino for cell for calls. I would give this property an B+ because of price and location

We stayed at the Rio in Dec of 2011 - so this review is a bit dated. Whenever you stay off the strip you worry about getting around - well, put that thought to bed right now. Shuttles run from the Rio to the strip every 15 minutes - you are covered. The Rio is dated - I remember staying there in the 80's - but it's a classic. The rooms are suites - huge with a sectional couch so there is lots of seating room. The king size bed was great - slept like a log. We stayed in both towers - and they were about the same as far as comfort goes. I enjoyed the casino - all the staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, for the price - I would stay here anytime. Hopefully, they are in the process of bringing it up to date - but the nostalgia of Vegas in the old days has a certain attraction for me.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a beautiful view - some of the mountains some of the backs of the hotels on the s...
